I stayed at the hotel 5 years ago, it is near to the centre but far enough out so that it isnt noisey at night. The staff were polite and the room was clean, if not a little dated. The only issue was, on arrival the reception staff advised the bill had not been paid. I had to show my credit card statement, and all expedia emails and confirmations. Once they had seen these I was checked in. I would advise to have all booking and payment receipts and emails to hand if booking through Expedia.

Not a 4 star hotel. Beware.
It’s listed as 4 star. But it’s like a 3 start airport hotel. Very dated and old inside. I had the best room, one of the top floor ones. But getting is is a hassle and it’s not great. Bathroom is very old. I can’t fault the breakfast!

Make sure you pre-pay for your room. I was double charged for my room. Once at check-in and once at check-out. Either the staff is not aware of payment procedures or the hotel has a fraud operation in their payment system that they are not aware of. They will not help you resolve the payment issue, so save yourself a headache and prepay.

Arnold and reception/front desk staff were wonderful. Dealt with all issues we had as best they could. Would not stay on ground floor in this hotel due to strong sewer smell from shower but anywhere higher would be fine.

Don’t book a first floor room, my parents did and both rooms they had a terrible sewer smell, I had a room on the 6th floor was great. Beautiful view of the city, and good size, breakfast was just ok, get coffee somewhere else

This was a great choice. its very convenient to lots of things to go do, eat, and drink. The trolley system is fantastic, just a block away. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. Walk-in (no threshold) Shower was great. i ordered a bed with a sleeper sofa for my son. The sleeper was very difficult to sleep in. so we got creative. Did not do the breakfast. I would come back to this hotel for sure!

The room was small even though I had booked a suite. The roof terrace has no privacy. The light in the bathroom was insufficient to put on make-up. The location was fine. Close to the museums and easy access to tram. The people at the hotel were friendly. Breakfast was good.

The whole city is walkable. There are shops, restaurants, entertainment and lots of things to do around the property. There were doing a lot of renovations while we were there, so there was a lot of noise and stuff everywhere but the staff was very nice.

Overall the property was in a good location to be able to walk to points of interest. We were not aware at the time of booking that there were renovations being done which made it slightly less desirable especially paying full price with no compensation for any inconveniences. We booked the penthouse with the rooftop patio. The room was large and had everything you could need and the views were beautiful however, we would have preferred a little more privacy from the rooms on either side which also had the patio adjacent, separated by a wire fence. The staff was warm and welcoming and helped with all requests.

The staff were friendly, helpful and available for questions. There were lots of variety for breakfast and the area was always clean with good music selection. Be aware that this hotel serves as residential living as well so you may see kids playing in the courtyard. Pleasantly surprised the penthouse had two balconies but the condition of the room was clean but older..it could use a refresh.

Relatively Clean, safe, spacious room, and walkable to Rijksmuseum. Dark room with our lighting and sheets were too small for king bed. Otherwise very good.

I wouldn’t stay here again due to the treatment I got when I checked in. I was asked to prove that I had prepaid my reservation and had to show my credit card account that shows it had been paid. This has never happened to me when I have checked into a hotel and it was very demeaning.

Bed problems and ground floor windows
Room was clean and ok size. Most (if not all) of the rooms were ground floor and our window was on a public path, so the curtains had to be closed the whole time. The bed was two singles pushed together, but with a constant gap - not exactly romantic. The mattresses were very old and worn out. I sunk through them and could feel the bed frame.

So we booked this hotel for 3 nights for my 30th birthday and didnt even stay there for more than 45 mins! There were white stains all over the bed, the couch. The bathroom was violent! The bed might as well have been a camping bed! The room was utterly disgusting! They could not offer a different room as all the same! Called expedia to try and arrange a refund and the hotel refused! Eventually they gave us 1 night back in cash! Honestly just dont bother! I wouldnt take a rat to this hotel! We checked out and went to the Pestana Amsterdam Riverside and it turned our day right around!

Avoid!!! Been awaiting a refund after they over booked the hotel and could not check us into the room. They gave us a twin bedroom when we paid £390 for a double. Be aware - wouldn’t recommended. Ignoring all communication and pretending managers aren’t in when we call to chase! Avoid and safe yourself the hassle.

We were able to check you in to your assigned room without any problems. That is was actually done. You have booked standard double which can has either twin or double bed. So there is no mistake. You informed us that you are not happy with the room only the next day after arrival, however if you would let us know immediately after check in, we could easily change it for you. Even though after getting your complaint about twin bed we offered you to change the room but you refused.Since we always try to do our best to make stay in the hotel nice, as an exception we offered a refund seeing that you are sad about it.The refund was proceeded from our side, but the bank requested additional information. We have also been in contact with you via email regarding the refund. The shower was either freezing cold with high pressure, or scalding hot and trickling pressure there was no inbetween. Towels were not big enough to wrap around an average person. The heated flooring of the bathroom was lovely though and bed was very comfortable
