I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. We had an amazing experience here. The staff are out of this world friendly and helpful. The location is great. They even have a pillow menu.

The staff at the Conscious Hotel were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. The rooms are fairly sparse, but that is the point. Low impact. You shouldn't be hanging in your room anyways. You are in Amsterdam! :) The breakfast buffet is fabulous. Again, staff is fantastic. Everyone there was a pleasure to interact with. Extremely accomodating. Thank you for the great stay! Perfect location near the museums and right next to tram and bus stations. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds.

The hotel is nice- it’s clean and well equipped, and the location is great. Check in and check out were easy and the price was very reasonable. It was the staff who really took my stay from good to exceptional. From the minute I arrived, I felt welcomed. Nothing is too much trouble, and service is seamless. You are all amazing!

Lovely new years stay.
Amazing new years break. We were warmly welcomed to the property for an easy check in experience and our room was fantastic, with a lovely welcome tray of coffees, teas, water, crisps and even an alcoholic drink. The standard double room was very spacious, clean and stylish with a lovely big bed! New towels provided each day with option of daily housekeeping. Only two slight issues were that the shower door didn’t fit quite right so there was water all over the bathroom floor after a shower and also that the road noise outside was pretty loud and hard to sleep through. This affected our sleep on the first night but with newly purchased ear plugs we were fine the following evening. Might be good if the hotel offered some earplugs given that it is on a really loud bit of road.

A great spot in the Museum area of Amsterdam. The Rijks, Van Gough, and several other museums are a short walk away. A very friendly, updated small hotel with large rooms Loved the check in complimentary sparkling wine and snack. Complimentary wine, cheese, and snacks are available everyday from 17:00 - 18:00. Staff is very helpful with all requests!!

I’d say I’m fairly picky when it comes to whether I consider a hotel worth the price or not. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. The digital check in process was straightforward and efficient, the staff was kind and welcoming and the place was one of the cleanest I’ve ever been to. The room itself for the price and location was excellent. It was a firstly large room with great windows, a large bed and a nice bathroom. It’s definitely leaning towards efficiency but on the higher end for sure. It was minimalist with all the expected amenities. It even came with a welcome drink and a trail mix bar. The lobby itself was also quite nice, the cafe area downstairs had beautiful windows and nicely appointed styling for a lovely coffee and pastry. All in all, an excellent value that was clean, efficient and considerate. Will definitely stay again

The hotel was in a very convenient location. Friendly staff and very clean facilities. Highly recommend this particular location to any who are visiting Amsterdam and wish to be close to the major museums.

An overpriced uncomfortable Hostel
I thought I'd hit the Jackpot when I booked a 5 night stay at this hotel. I mean for $230 a night I'm going to have complete comfort not to mention the best sleep on a comfortable king sized bed. I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel itself is cute but when you get to the room it's a completly different story. First you have two options. One you can stay across from a school of screaming children that can look directly into your room and if you prefer privacy you need to keep the curtains closed blocking out any natural light. The second option is that you trade in the view of a preschool for a busy street where everyone walking by can look directly into your room. Therres also no AC so if you sleep hot prepare to have the windows open at night and listen to the noise of the street all night long. While you are listening to the noise outside you'll be struggling to get to sleep on a roughly 7 inch thick mattress with a slightly raised lump or beam that goes down the middle of the mattress as an added bonus. 2 days in and I started waking up with pain radiating through my legs and back every morning. There is also no access to a clean drop of water in the hotel unless you pay or would like to add an additional $19 to a $230 bill every morning. There is also no fan in the bathroom so if you are staying with someone it could be uncomfortable at times. It has the appearance of a luxury boutique hotel but the room is a step above what I'd expect from a Hostel

This is a fantastic property in a wonderful area of Amsterdam. It’s quiet, safe and comfortable and minutes by foot from attractions like the museums, Vondel park and the concert hall. The staff is very friendly and attentive to the guests’ needs. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent in virtually every respect
Five-night stay was excellent in virtually every respect. Location could not be more convenient to museums, concert hall, tram and, a pleasant surprise, the 397 bus to the airport. Staff was very attentive; room and facility were clean. Room was not large but adequate. Our only complaint: there was no lighting by the desk.

Reasons for the stars and why some didn't get five stars: Cleanliness - Bedding and towels were clean. Bathroom was very clean too however there was a weird stain on the toilet seat. The cups were a bit dusty and the desk in the room could do with a better wipe. Floors were immaculate though. Staff & service - Receptionist were all very welcoming and lovely especially one of the housekeeping staff who went above and beyond to give us extra towels. The perk that we liked was the we could choose to not have our room cleaned. And they plant a tree on your behalf if you choose this option! I always found it unnecessary and we only stayed 4 nights so didn't need the sheets changed during our time. And we prefer not to have housekeeping in our room when we're not there. So this was a huge plus. Property condition & facilities - The main issue we had was the poor construction of the shower. The door didn't close properly and it wasn't in a tray which meant the whole bathroom floor flooded! We had to put towels to create a barrier so that one area of the floor would stay dry. This wasn't very convenient but the housekeeping staff gave us towels to help as that's all they could do. One thing I would add is that the hotel uses down and wool pillows only. As vegans this wasn't suitable for us so we had to make do with the wool pillows. I understand that they're trying to be sustainable but it would be nice to see some recycled polyester options.

Your sharp eye on our conscious execution in our hotel makes me very happy. About our pillows; the fabric is 100% organic cotton but regarding the filling you have a good point. Last year we changed all our food & beverage department to 100% vegetarian. To go 100% vegan is a next step but is under serious consideration. The hotel is great as is the location. The team are lovely and welcoming and the rooms are clean and modern. Only minor suggestions that could improve the hotel: More breakfast/ food options for those with dietary needs and perhaps mini fridge in the room for storing drinks / fresh milk for tea and coffee. We would certainly recommend this hotel to others though and would happily stay here again.
