What an incredibly disappointing second stay at this hotel especially in comparison to my incredible first stay. Did management change? Staff was hit or miss - when it was a hit, it was a hit but when it was a miss, it was a total flub. The young woman at our check-in was incredibly condescending to me when I asked a few questions, did not reply to my email for about two weeks after I had first asked for help with my itinerary (after I reminded her in person once more and then sent a follow-up) and flatly made it clear she wasn't willing to carry our luggage up the steep stairs. I hesitated about writing this review as I'd rather support smaller places than a big chain but considering the prices I paid especially during off-peak season, I feel like I was better off staying at the Andaz or a similar upscale chain. Not only was this woman rude and sulking the entirety of our interactions, but her colleagues were also either just like her in terms of wretched reluctant service or completely charming and helpful. I don't understand why some people go into hospitality if their comportment is anything but. Furthermore, the woman at the breakfast area enjoyed chiding guests left and right for inane and innocuous things such as drinking water from the water bottle in the mini-fridge (as she did to me) as well as other behaviors totally unbecoming of anyone working in hospitality. Unless this hotel is aiming to send the message of being unhospitable...regardless, I'm not coming back.
