After reading the reviews online, I was a bit scared that the hotel would be a disaster but actually it was really good. Clean, no noise and really well located.

Great location close to many attractions. No frills place to stay. Elevator inoperable for half of our stay. Linens changed every day, but floors never cleaned. Price was appropriate for this hotel. Located on a major street, so if you want to sleep at night, dont get a room overlooking the front of hotel.

Great hotel in a great location. 3 minute walk from Dam square, several attractions on the same road as the hotel, plenty of clothes shops etc. Can't fault the hotel, we booked the delux room. Cleaned daily and fresh towels daily. No tea or coffee machine in your room but there is one to the left of the reception desk. Heating is working in the rooms. Quiet location, the only noise we heard was people coming back and slamming their room doors but that was few and far between. Don't be put off by the negative reviews, me and my husband had a lovely 4 nights away and we will definitely be returning ☺️

Standard hotel but done the job. The beds were uncomfortable but I have a bad back anyway. No kettle or drinks in the room and my safe wouldn't work. Watch out for young kids on the windows as there were no locks and they could quite easily fall out. Apart from them, we were only staying 2 nights and it was a good location.

Showers don’t have any water stopper, so water will spill everywhere (probably causing mold). I was woken up by staff loudly banging on my door on two separate occasions - when I failed to open (as I was sleeping), they just kept banging on the door. Hotel should provide “do not disturb” door hangers. I woke up with insect bites on my ear and jawline one morning - did not find bed bugs, but quite concerning nonetheless. It is very well located, and reasonably priced, but unfortunately lacks in cleanliness.

Good location but a cold room
The room was quite modern and the location was great but what let us down was that there was no heating - which meant sleeping in jackets as well as pyjamas - they provided a space heater but it didn't help. Another thing was that there were only 2 channels on the TV but that was minor considering we were out walking about most of the time.

we had the economy room which is in the basement and it was the biggest mistake. The amount of noise coming from staff and other people staying at the hotel was absolutely ridiculous. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything so if you have loud neighbours you’re in for a fun night like we did. We could also hear the cleaner bang doors around and move the vacuum cleaner with such force in total disregard of any guests and that was very early in the morning.

Clean and easily navigable. Heater didn't work, the TV barely worked, shower doors didn't touch the floor so the bathroom flooded every time you showered.

Having seen reviews before arriving, we were nervous but we had nothing to worry about. The corridors aren’t great and the tea / coffee station needs a good clean but our room was lovely - perfect for just a couple of days with a very comfortable bed. We stayed in room 302. True - there was no heating in the room but we knew that from reading other reviews so packed warm stuff to sleep in. How much time do you spend in your room anyway when on a city break?!? People seem to complain because they expect 5 star standards at a hostel price. If you want 5 star then go pay for 5 star. This hotel was the same price as a hostel where you would have to at least share a bathroom. Location - Perfect! Everything is in walking distance

The good points: central location, free luggage storage although not in a secure location. nice shower. And now the not so good points: run down and dirty. Lamps in our room didn’t work, some had no bulbs. Light fitting hanging off wall. TV had one channel. Aircon unit not working and protective panelling missing. The towels had been used so many times some were thread bare. The carpet was vile with horrible stains. Our first room stunk of stale dampness and drains. The dust in the light fitting of the bed side lights was absolutely disgusting. No in room tea and coffee as advertised. Would I return, not if I could help it!

My trip was during summer in July, we were one of the first group to check-in on that day. They gave us a room on the top floor (room 602) the moment we walked in, the room was HOT, HOT HOT. AC was blowing hot air, and we asked to get another room, but they said there were no room available and the hot air is only temporary. We went back to the room hours later , still hot and no AC. Management kept saying AC will start working soon but it was hot the whole time. We had one of the worst night of stay in that hotel. After multiple complains with different people, we finally got a new room. Do not accept top floor during summer time. AC don’t work.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The reception team were so friendly and helpful. They even prepared our room earlier as we arrived early. They allowed us to leave our luggage in a safe place. Extra friendly, nice people.

For around €150 especially, we were dissapointed. The room had no window. A bright green light from the exit sign shone into the room. Doors were being slammed all night. Our room was near the dustbin room which were being moved around and emptied in the middle of the night. Rubbish stay really.

Convenient location. Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfy, but mattress slips off. No room to move in the room, but for the cost of being In Amsterdam, it was reasonable and fit the bill. Rained the whole time, so it would have been nice to have a place in Hotel to rest. Basically, it is a bed and small bathroom.

Lovely hotel with helpful and kind staff. The nice man who checked us in also helped us book tickets to Body Worlds and we were there within an hour! Hotel room was small but very clean and in a great location. Won’t get a better price for such a good location in Amsterdam!

Good location, that’s about it.
Whilst the location of the hotel was quite good for the price charged, unfortunately the state of the hotel itself did let it down. Here are a few issues that come to mind: - The showers/wash room were ridden with mould - The hand wash, body & hair wash turned out to be a 3-in-1 product (which for sensitive skin was not appropriate) - An extractor fan is in the wash room, yet it is not functional - Dried blood was present on some of the towels throughout the stay (they were changed daily at least) - The television was barely functional - Windows could benefit from sound proofing, especially as it is on a main road with a lot of ambulances/police cars driving past - Lack of vacuuming when the room was cleaned That said, here are some of the more positive notes: - Location to the city centre - Daily cleaning, though room for improvement - Friendly staff
