This is an ideal place for a relaxing stay. This historic villa is in Pastena and it faces the sea with a stunning view. The villa hosts 5 apartments; Ametista, Opale, Zaffiro and Smeraldo, and the dependance Acquamarina. Zaffiro – Amalfi sea view rental house Description: Zaffiro is part of the Dimora Artistica: a beautiful villa, that hosts four apartments, terraced gardens and a small independent dependance situated amidst citrus groves. This villa is probably one of the most charming and panoramic villas in the whole Amalfi Coast. Built at the end of XIX century, stand out like a jewel in Pastena, a little hamlet of Amalfi. After the recent restoration; now it has four wonderful flats and also a dependance and it paid attention not only at the conservation of the original areas but also at the protection of the privacy for all the guests. The flats are different-sized, from 2 to 8 sleeping accommodation, to meet every requirement of our guests. A wonderful lemon grove stand above the villa like a tiara; there is also a biological vegetable garden for the guests, who can use the well-equipped kitchens to have a dinner with a dream panorama. Villa layout: The Villa has 5 levels: the ground floor at the street level, the mezzanine, the first floor with the main garden level and then the second and third floors. The main entrance is at Street level, where there is also an elevator which allows the access to all the properties. On the Mezzanine level are the Lounge, the Reception Office, and the Ametista apartment, while on the first floor there are Opale and Zaffiro apartments, as well as the main garden level. Also on this level, a panoramic balcony belongs to these two apartments. The biggest apartment, Smeraldo, occupies the whole second floor, while at the third floor there is Acquamarina, the private dependance. Furthermore, on the rooftop is a sunbathing terrace with stunning views. The 4 apartments, ranging in size from 1 to 4 bedrooms, guarantee privacy and tranquillity. With furnishings, paintings and other decorations of the family, the idea was to recreate the atmosphere of an aristocratic house of the last century. The result is a blend of elegance, contemporary light and colour, and sensitivity to tradition. Outdoor areas: Grounds and gardens of Dimora Artistica are an integral part of the overall heritage of the property. Aside from the main garden level (the “hanging garden”), there are seven terraces cultivated in citrus groves. Only the four lower terraces are still intact, but stand as a testament to the culture of the Amalfi Coast region and the relationship of its people to their land. Zaffiro is at the level of the “hanging garden” and it stands out for having a private outdoor zone, plus a wide section of the balcony that runs the villa length. It is made by: two bedrooms, a double one and one with twin beds (which can be put together so to form another double bed), a living room with fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen-dining room, to which follow two bathrooms, one with tub and one with shower. The living room and the two bedrooms open onto the balcony. Clean and convenient with lots of outdoor space. A perfect place if you have a family or traveling with a group. This is probably as close as you're going to get to Amalfi town without getting a hotel for the same price with much smaller rooms. The walk to town involves some steps down, but is generally easy to do. We had kids ages 12 and 7 and had no issues going back and forth. The hostess was very friendly and helped us call a taxi down to the pier when we left. Overall a good experience. ##### Elena L. Beautiful apartment Beautiful apartment with spectacular views and a private garden It is located in Pastena which is about a 20 minute walk to Amalfi. There are two beaches close by. I recommend going to the one in Amalfi. The beach in Pastena is not easily accessible as there are 500 steps to access it. The bus into town runs frequently. It is not easy to get a taxi and UBER is not an option. We used Sorrento car service for all of our day trips and they were great as well Only the bedrooms are airconditioned. We were there in July during a heat wave. It was not unbearable. We spent a lot of our time on the terrace overlooking the sea when we were at the apt. We loved out time in Amalfi and would stay here again. ##### Teresa L. Check in with ease. Francesca was amazing and prior to arrival our requests for transfers and small amount of groceries were taken care of with ease. The villa the view are incredible. Kitchen were well equipped. The waterpressure in the bathrooms and hot water were fantastic. Hotel Santa Caterina was across the street for a casual dinner or breakfast. Bus stop right across the street which made getting into town easy. Walking the view is breathtaking but may be challenging for older guests. Elevator was convenient to get luggage to the apartment and beneficial for elderly. Overall a wonderful stay. Any questions we answered immediately. The only Improvement I would suggest would be the comfortability of the beds. European mattresses tend to be much firmer than the US. However the bed sheets were of the utmost quality.
