Great stay

Posted 26-Aug-2015
Pros: The staff, the view. We would come back to this hotel.
Location: Walk to the marina is very doable, takes about 20 minutes, but do yourself a favor and get a ride back up.
Though our stay was short, we woke to a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were great and very helpful and even made a phone call for us to help us out with our next hotel. Wifi was good as was the breakfast. We walked to the marina to catch a ferry to Capri, but we used the porter service recommended by the hotel which was a good move. A backpack would be ok, but you wouldn't want to take heavy bags either from or to the dock up the hill to the hotel.

Amazing hotel and people

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: - Wonderful staff - Beautiful hotel - Incredible sea views - Great breakfast - The restaurant at the hotel is great for dinner
Cons: The water seemed to run out after one shower, so you had to wait a bit before the second person could take a shower.
We stayed in Villa Gabrisa for 4 nights in August. The people working there were so nice, accommodating, and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and we had a room on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the water and had the most incredible view of the mountainside. It's pretty close to the beach, some steps (133 to be exact) and a 15 minute walk through town to the main beach. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing and their included breakfasts were great, too. They arranged two taxi transfers for us with the most professional and friendly taxi company and even gave us an early breakfast on the day we were leaving. They give you beach towels for the day in tote bags and all the products in the room are L'occitane. Overall, the hotel was great.

Good hotel. Be warned there are a lot of steps to walk down / up to the beach / port from. Stunning view though as you are so high up.

Very nice boutique hotel

Posted 27-Jul-2015
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. Rooms were spacious (for European standards) and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nice and offered a good variety of choices. We enjoyed the challenge of walking all those steps to the beach but for those who don't enjoy all the walking you might want to choose something closer to the beach. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Holiday in positano July 2015

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Pros: We liked the staff, the position, the cleanliness and comfort of our room.
Location: The hotel is located near the top of positano, within walking distance of the main bus stop, taxis and numerous restaurants.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel villa da gabrisa in positano. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. The view from our room was beautiful, a panorama of positano and the sea. Hotel food was of a very good standard and we ate twice in the evening, where we had a table overlooking the bay. Service was to on and the food was delicious. If we return to positano in the future, we will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Great hotel, awesome view and staff

Posted 29-Jun-2015
Pros: View, rate, staff and morning coffee overlooking the Mediterranean.
Cons: Better blow dryer for my wife.
Location: Relatively high up. The trade off of that is better view, longer walk down to city center.
Nice hotel to stay at for a few days. Family owned and operated, and they couldn't be more accommodating. The view is as good as any in Positano. Great (and some of the best) restaurants within walking distance (and the hotel's food is good and their road-side-with-view tables are an awesome place to start the day). If you do want to go down to the city center, it is an easy walk and you can either taxi it back up or take bus. Not a big deal at all for a couple or a family. It's not the Four Seasons by any stretch, but its a (more than) decent place to stay and watch the world go by.

Wonderful...

Posted 20-Jun-2015
Beautiful location and wonderful hotel. All of the staff were so helpful, explained where everything was located in Positano and organised trips for us. There are so many excellent restaurants in the vicinity, including Villa Gabrisa itself. There are a lot of steps in Positano, prepare yourself for that because it would be a challenge if your fitness levels were poor! It certainly helps to work off all of the wonderful food and drink you will consume. We stayed in a new room (no.12) located next door but one to the hotel, it was a large room with a beautiful view from the terrace. There is a little shop two doors up where you can buy snacks and local wine at reasonable prices too. Would definitely recommend and would without doubt go back.
