Incredible views and affordable price. Super thin walls. I could hear the entire conversation of rooms on both sides. No food or drink the room??? Room is 180 steps down from the road which is challenging with luggage. Lady at reception kindly organised a local to assist with my bags for 10 euro. Local bus to Amalfi/Positano might come - and it might not. Taxis are expensive and there's no path along the road to walk. Hotel is right by Tourist Information however their advice was... lost in translation? Walk of the Gods is about another 1000 steps from the main road (by the hotel). Priano is great if you're into water sports or sitting reading a book. This hotel has a wonderful area to sit and read. Great hotel for solo travellers on a budget. Not so much for families, romantic getaways etc.

Absolutely LOVED our stay at Hotel Villa Bellavista! Best views from Praiano, walkable distance to roads and local restaurants, you have it all within 5 minutes walking distance. Even what seems like a private beach below! We also did the Amalfi Boat Tour with Gennaro that is offered by the hotel and this was by far our best experience while our stay. Gennaro’s knowledge on the coast was excellent and he made sure my wife and I had the best time possible. The breakfast was also really good, missing a little bit of variety, but still really good. If you’re looking to be close to everything but far enough away for quietness, great views, and great service, STAY HERE. Their Pool was also great to have, used it our last day as we were pretty exhausted from all the walking and day trips. I can’t wait to come back and stay at Hotel Villa Bellavista and where to tell my friends and family where they should stay when they come to the coast!

This place like most others has made the most of its spectacular outlook over the Amalfi Coast. It is right in the wedge of a gully where you can swim down below. Simply stunning. Their gardens and vegetation are keep to a high standard. It has a quaint secluded pool too. Easy to get to by the public bus from stop 7. The staff/service for checking in could use a bit of an uplift in warmth and care levels but no real complaints. Rest of the family business and helpers were hospitable. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend it to others. It was very good

Hotel Bellavista is a beautiful property. We enjoyed our stay, the beautiful ocean view, the AC, and the breakfast. One thing you need to be aware of is there are so many stairs, but this is a norm for this part of Italy. There is a way to avoid most of the stairs (I just wish our host told us about this path in an email, and not at the end of our stay). We went on a boat tour that was organized by our hotel. It was amazing and totaly worth the price. highly recommend! Our captain was amazing. Very knowledgeable about the Amalfi Coast and the shot of limoncello at the end was a nice touch!

Great Hotel in Amazing location
I read some average reviews about this hotel but decided to risk it for the amazing location. I was very pleasantly surprised … loved it and we found the staff very helpful … the location is amazing despite the steps that just go with the territory. I would definitely stay again.

Home Away From Home!
I don't typically write reviews, but I cannot rave about our stay at Hotel Villa Bellavista enough! We stayed for 2 nights while visiting the Amalfi Coast and opted to stay in Praiano to save a bit of money. The hotel is in a great location, just a short drive or boat ride away from Positano. There are quite a few stairs to go down to reach it, but that is to be expected while visiting the Amalfi Coast. The managers/owners of the hotel are very hospitable and kind, and always offered recommendations to make our stay even better. They also helped arrange a water taxi from the hotel to Positano, which was extremely helpful! The breakfast buffet served every morning had a decent selection, which we enjoyed while overlooking the stunning sea views on the terrace. The rooms were decently sized, comfortable, and clean! We will definitely stay at Hotel Villa Bellavista when we visit the Amalfi Coast again.

Does the job for a few nights. It is one of the cheaper hotels on the Amalfi coast so don't expect any luxuries or outstanding service. The sea views from the room were great. We had two bedrooms even though we had only booked a double - both were very small and some of the furniture was in random places, making it difficult to put a suitcase anywhere and being able to walk around. Hotel has a strange vibe at times, feels like they're stuck in the 90s but it's all part of the experience. Breakfast is decent but some of the bread rolls were hard as a rock. I hope someone is going to release the poor bird trapped in a tiny cage on the terrace! Heartbreaking to see :(

The Bellavista staff and owners treated us as family members. The views, the breakfasts and dinners were superior. The pool was lovely, and surrounded by fruit trees, which offered much shade. They offer boat trips to Capris, right from their property. The rooms and entire villa were immaculately clean. We would change nothing of this hotel. It offers everything you would want for a relaxing stay. In fact, we are already planning a future trip there.

Disliked: Amenities
Hotel was okay, pool wasn’t in use due to COVID but no compensation provided so had to pay to use beach area. Closing of hotel doors at midnight wasn’t helpful as Italian culture involves eating late with the heat etc which meant we had to eat & rush back to the hotel. Toiletries weren’t replenished. Breakfast was a bit boring having the same thing over 5 days, could have had a bit of a variety. Paying the local tax and bar bill in cash wasn’t great either when the local cash machine was broken & in times of COVID cards are better.

Great hotel to explore Praiano from
Bellavista Hotel is perfectly located in Praiano with great access to the beach, cafes & restaurants. The staff were helpful with recommendations & offering boat tours. Breakfast on the balcony overlooking the cliffs below & the water is the ideal way to start the day. We stayed in a standard room with no water view which was sufficient considering all our time was spent outside. The only issue with the room was that it was below reception so there were people walking around upstairs throughout the night and early morning plus the phone was left to ring out when the desk was not attended at night. Loved our time here and would recommend.

Old and poorly maintained hotel
Steps to the hotel are well-located opposite the Praiano SITA bus stop; albeit down a “level”, so accessed only by a fair amount of steps down (and ultimately up). Unless your hotel is on the road, mostly all accommodations in praiano are accessed by (many) steps only. Parking is very limited around the hotel, but we were lucky to find a free one at the top of the big hill by the bus stop. We arrived early, so only checked in late before dinner and immediately went out again. So only on our late return did we notice the many dead ants on the bathroom floor and the few on the bed spread cover & decorative pillows. We informed management immediately but they simply blamed it on the previous occupier for eating in the room. It was late and, on asking for another room, were told the hotel was full. There was no apology, but they begrudgingly came to sweep up the dead ants and change the top sheet. However the mattress sagged in the middle due to the loss of the central support bar, thus it was certainly not the best night of sleep. The hotel appears to be old and has not been maintained well. The crockery at breakfast were chipped & dusty, and mine had a tiny cluster of hair. There was a large breakfast spread in the morning, but based on the quality of the room, the night’s sleep and the dirty crockery, we had a coffee and a pastry, and checked out as quick as we could. Whole-heartedly would advise to not stay more than one night here, and only if no alternatives at all.

I thought we'd booked a room with a seaview but after I'd booked I received an abrupt email saying there was no seaview. We went along with it anyway. The room was OK but a little smelly. The hotel is in a good location and is fine but there's probably nicer places to stay in Priaino.

Beautiful view - 60+ steps from the road/bus/taxi
The pool is surrounded by too many plants- some would keep it cooler but too many excludes a lot of sun. The sun beds which had sun were continually occupied the father of the hotel and his dog. This is unacceptable- guests should have priority and he should not be there when guests are. He should water the plants around the pool when we are not allowed in the pool. The pool hours are limited 10 to 1 then 4 to 7 which means when you really want to plunge (1 to 4) you can’t. Even so one day it was cleaned at 10.30 and we were told we couldn’t go in untill after 1 !! We booked a room with a patio to the garden. This was a ‘misprint’ we were told and ‘you get what you pay for’ . We had a room with one very high window-'garden view', I could not reach it to shut it. The loud German music was unacceptable while we were eating our dinner. The upper terrace needs more work for the comfort of guests- sweeping, plants moving, better beds etc.. It is very clean. The food is well cooked but unfortunately there is no choice- for us it was fine as we were never served anything we would not normally eat but for others it may be an issue. All the food was fresh and much grown in the gardens. Buffet breakfast was good- cereal, bread, meats etc.. It is a good location to visit the coastal towns eg. Amalfi etc. We did a Capri tour booked through tourist information (she was really helpful) in the village from la Boa Praiano marina which was excellent.

Terrible hotel
The hotel is very hard to find and access- down many flights of stairs which is very difficult with luggage. It states there is free parking, what this means is the free parking in the town that is sparse and far from the hotel, so even father to walk with luggage. The hotel staff are rude and unhelpful. The room was shabby with no towels, when we asked for some the hotel staff were accusatory and rude. The pool was already closed when we arrived at 7, one of the main reasons we booked that hotel. We would not recommend this hotel even if it is relatively cheap for the amalfi Coast.

Beautiful Ma and Pa joint by the ocean
My friend and I arrived late due to crazy traveling, and the nice woman at the front made us feel at home. She greeted us with a friendly face and hot plate of home-made pasta (that we paid for ahead of time for a bargain price). We felt so relaxed and at home, especially traveling though naples, on the circumvesuviana train to sorrento, and then a car to Praiano. We were beat! It was so beautiful to wake up next to the coast, and have a wonderful buffet breakfast complete with cappuccino, orange juice, fruits, meats and cheese, pastries and more. For the short time we stayed, we really enjoyed this place.

Hotel Bellavista
Bellavista would be a OK property to some if they would disclose correctly their location. The hotel is situated some 80 metrs (300 feet) below the main road connecting the various towns on the Amalfi Coast. This means there is approx 100 steps to negotiate with luggage down from the road in order to check-in (no elevators of any kind) and eventually 100 steps up, at the end of the stay. The alternative to the many steps is fewer steps but a longer down hill and eventually up hill narrow walkway. Once inside the hotel, there are more steps to reach the rooms, which are all below the reception and some rooms are accessible only via a staircase outside the property itself. The TVs were minuscule and with only 2 channels available. Water pressure was barely acceptable; make shift support for the shower heads and no hooks in the bathrooms to hang the clothes. The staff means well and are willing to help, but all their efforts cannot offset the shortcomings of the facility. Fact is we cut our stay one day short.

stair master hotel
The hotel location provided a panoramic view that was very enjoyable. The 95+ stairs were a problem getting to and from the hotel especially after being freshly dressed for dinner. The 350 stairs to the beach were also a bit much, and while the scenery is beautiful, the climb is something to consider when you want to go to the beach to be cooled off. We went once. The lack of english speaking channels on the room tv sets as well as the lack of internet in the room made it difficult to communicate and research vacation-related questions. The female siblings who ran the hotel were helpful, the males were off putting

Nice hotel - pity about the room and noisy cleaner
We had mixed feelings about this hotel. It's certainly one of the cheapest in Praiano in a fantastic location which is close to two very nice swimming bays and the main street. For these reasons alone, it's worth staying here. However, we were really disappointed by our so called "garden view" room. If a small window near the ceiling looking out into a concrete wall with moss on it is a garden view, then I'm afraid they should have been more clear than this (Expedia certainly shouldn't be advertising this as a garden room). If you're going to stay at this hotel, fork out for the sea view rooms which would be much nicer. The hotel staff don't really have the personalities to be in hospitality. It was difficult getting information out of them and there were times where the conversations felt really awkward. A request to get an additional pillow for my room took three days because the hotel was full and they didn't have any spares. While I appreciated finally receiving it, I've never stayed anywhere where they literally do not have any more than one pillow per paying guest! Lastly, the cleaners insisted on cleaning the rooms at 8am every day. If you're looking for a sleep in while on holiday then this is certainly not the place to stay.

Fabulous hotel right near bus stop (easy walk down to it, but like all of coast...hilly/steps). Amazing setting & views. I was not able to get my room with a view due to "an electrical fault) for the first night, but did for 2nd night. So to recompense me they offered me two evening dinners - lovely 4 course meal - no choice, but good variety: Pasta, salad, fish...Nice breakfasts too. Helpful, friendly staff.

Great View!
The view from the deck, where you eat breakfast, is unbelievable! Breakfasts are good and the cappuchino's were really good. They also serve dinner, but we never ate there. We had booked an ocean view room, but they had to put us in a Garden View room due to a water leak issue in the ocean view room. Which is why I dinged the maintenance rating. The room we had was very nice, roomy, and clean, but the view no where near the other. Shower was So small I could hardly move in it. They also have a little pool and sauna, but sauna was not working. Location was down a few steps from the main coast road. Had trouble getting the bus from this town, Praiano, as it either didn't come or when it did it was full.

Bad mood staff, it is not a 3 star hotel
This hotel was a very cheap hotel, and the worst thing all the staff are a very mood one. It is a family runned hotel and they are not very welcoming people. The only time they treated us cordially was one were one checking out and paying our bills there. Everything is very old here, incluse the toals and bed sheet. Extremelly noise old dors and the breakfeast was cheap as everything else at this hotel. I have no idea how they got a 3 star for this hotel.
