Misleading photos

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Cons: Change the carpet. Better beds and pillows. Better wifi.
Photos show a high quality hotel. Beds were hard as were the pillows. Not near beach as stated. You have to walk down 2000 steep steps to get down to somewhat the bottom of town but then have to walk to further. Staff was nice but the carpet was dirty and frayed. I would stay here again. There is no wifi in rooms. You have to get a new password everyday and for every piece of equipment you own. Totally inconvenient.

An old resort with a good service

Posted 13-Oct-2015
This hotel is an old resort, however we really enjoyed our days there. The breakfast was pretty good (with fresh orange juice, fruits, etc.). The room was also a good surprise for us (very comfortable and clean). The biggest problem is the distance of this hotel from the center. There is a private stair with 400 (yes! 400 steps) to the center, but we can solve this problem with a bus (there is a bus stop in front of the door of the hotel).

Overrated hotel, not worth the money

Posted 10-Oct-2015 on Hotels
This hotel is over rated. The photos on the hotel site have nothing to do with reality. It is an old hotel with 1960s furniture the bathroom needs renovation the hairdryer is broken.definitely it is not good value for money. It should be rated as a no star hotel instead of a 4 star.room cleaniness is acceptable

Great location but staff were difficult

Posted 29-Sep-2015
The hotel is in a fantastic location and the view from our first room was fantastic. Facilities are quite dated and parking was an issue as the car was taken offsite but not available for an early morning collection as we had a tour booked that required the car to get to. The staff could not appreciate the situation and i was required to resolve myself. The Internet was only accessible from the lobby.

Quiet hilltop hideaway

Posted 24-Sep-2015 on Hotels
Hotel is 400 steps from the centre, but there are is a bar and some restaurants closer, which are better value and away from the main throng of tourists. The pool area is gorgeous, loads of sun beds and wonderful views. Breakfast was ok. Lots of meats, cheese, rolls, cereals, along with scrambled eggs and bacon. I would consider staying here again. My only gripe is the cost which I felt was quite high, but that is Positano for you!

Great views and facilities. Long walk to the beach

Posted 20-Sep-2015
Pros: View, Staff, Swimming Pool, Large comfy bed and good bathroom
Cons: Hotel could do with a make over, looking very tired in places.
Location: Location is at the top of the hill, which is excellent for views, but not for walking to the beach. Circular bus at 1 Euro 50 is a perfect solution.
We found the hotel to be excellent, from the staff on duty, to the amazing view from our room to the brilliant swimming pool. Our room was spacious and clean, however a little dated and the sofa/sofabed was in poor condition. The bed was large and comfortable, the shower warm and powerful. Plenty of storage too. Air conditioning was a most welcome. The swimming pool had lots of sunbeds, was nice and clean and very well looked after. Breakfast was fine, but nothing to write home about. Obviously as the hotel is at the very top of the hill, walking to the beach is a long and steep experience, but a cheap circular bus sorts that. We had a wonderful few days and enjoyed our stay there very much.
