Lovely old hotel with themed rooms. Just a bit too much decoration for my taste. Really appreciated this hotel in this small town. Good food too.

Cute and quiet
Cute historic hotel. We got in late and only stayed for one night. Loved the character of the place. It was nice that they offered a free coffee and pastry.

100 y/o historic hotels, no updates, no TV. Room door was jamming, window A/C, barely cooling down the room. Not worth the price.

Great updating of an older building.
Staff was wonderful. Room and bathroom clean. In the center of town. Breakfast coffee and pastry fabulous!!! Highly recommend.

A unique and historic hotel, and genuinely old. Loads of character but if you want everything looking new, forget it. It has modern amenities added and everything works. The hard working staff was friendly. I enjoyed having an old-fashioned claw foot bathtub that I could fit in and enjoy a bath after a long day of travel.

This place is so unique and has a great old-timey feel. Easy checkin, even at 4 am. And somehow it is the same price as the other conventional, depressing motels in the area. Definitely the best place to stay in Alturas.

Checkin clerk, Raeleen, was welcoming and informative. hotel’s dining area was good, clean and friendly. This morning’s cashier was crabby and unwelcoming. Day-old pastries would have been good if she had offered to heat them. Ended up tossing my turnover.

This place exceeded our expectations and made our stay really enjoyable. It's a historical building in town and kept in decent shape even after so many years. Staff made it enjoyable and loved the complimentary Starbucks coffee and pastry that came with it. Would love to come back again next year and stay a little longer. Extra bed and mini fridge options where a nice plus :)

I encourage anyone to stay here!! The staff is amazing. Bring a Keurig if you like coffee and they did offer a mini fridge in your room for only $10 the entire stay. Wi-Fi wasn’t working for me, but I managed. Most of the rooms have no tv, encouraging to go out and meet new friends. A must stay if traveling to or through Alturas Ca.

Historic hotel in Alturas, CA. Go to the coffee shop to check in. There is a convenience fee to use a credit card but you can pay cash too. The Roadhouse restaurant has great food and great staff, good prices too. The decor is great with historical pictures and items. Bedding, bath, etc., all modern and nice. Glad we stayed here.

Amazing historic hotel
We loved this hotel. The atmosphere was really cool. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. We loved the then wing in our rooms and the hotel was beautiful. The staff in the coffee shop were really friendly and so was the bartender in the saloon. I would highly recommend staying here.

Really cool spot. It’s over a 100 years old and still looks Pretty good. Stayed in there fisherman room and loved it. Just about everything in town is closed on Sundays just FYI

It was the whole package. A wonderful stay. Will plan another stay in the future. The food was fantastic! The staff very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very cozy! Loved it all! Lots of history in the hotel.

The hotel was in excellent shape for an old building. Very charming decor throughout. The beds in our room were comfortable but the comforters were really dirty, especially the pillow shams, but the sheets were clean and soft. The room decor was a super cute beach theme but really dusty. During the night it was pretty quiet. There were banging noises from at least 7 to around 9 or 10 but luckily it didn't go on all night. Maybe noise from the saloon? Sounded like someone was moving furniture and hitting the walls. The hall light shone in the room all night from the transom window over the door. I noticed that most of the other rooms had a curtain on those windows. We were fine without the TV. The soaps and shampoo provided were good quality. We would stay here again!

This hotel is a miracle, I love the fact that it exists! I can forgive most of the problems I had since I am not sure how it has survived, I am just glad it did. We had the fishing suite which was charming. Lucky we get up early, so the sound of the radio from the coffee shop below wasn’t a problem.

Hotel Niles is a step back in history! The historic building has been preserved well and the antiques and decorations are original or brought in to match the period. WiFi is available, but no TV's which is just how I like it. Alturas is a beautiful landscape and the town is wonderful. The staff of the Niles is top notch, the food downstairs was fabulous and I can't wait to be back in Alturas for another stay at the Hotel Niles!

If you want white bread, go find a motel 6. If you’re looking for cool and historical, this place is wonderful. Yes there are some creaks, but thank you to the owners for preserving this awesome building. Back rooms are quiet, sheets and towels super soft.

Large old hotel but needs more remodeling. The room had strong odor of cleaning products. Was unable to adjust heater. Tub shower needed to be replaced. Staff were very pleasant but did not know schedules for restaurant and breakfast room. On a positive side, food in restaurant was excellent and generous. Could not stay for breakfast as they did not open until 9:00
