"Nice hotel, great location for me, but..."
Have to start the review by acknowledging that I got a REALLY great rate! That being said, a couple of things were either just wrong, or unfortunate.
1. This is the first in which I've ever stayed, in 50 years of travelling, where the curtains on the only window in the room did not close. I'm not talking about there being a gap or spot where the panels did not overlap properly. The curtains in this room ONLY functioned as side panels. Yes, there were privacy sheers that covered the actual window, but these did nothing (by definition) to block the light that came into the room. Trust me, I checked to make sure that the curtains were not just stuck in a track or something - nope, panels were only wide enough to be side panels. Like many leisure travelers, I often take advantage of travel to sleep in a little later. Unfortunately, unless the room is dark, that's not going to happen for me, so not this trip. It may seem like a small thing, but it really stuck out as a negative on this trip for me.
2. There was a lovely South Asian family in town for a wedding that occupied every room on the HHonors floor on which I was staying, EXCEPT THE ROOM I WAS IN. I cannot fault the family for wanting to enjoy their stay by constantly moving from room to room at all hours and having animated conversations in the hallway. Perhaps this is the reason why I got the great rate that I received, but I would have appreciated knowing this was the case so I could have made another choice.
