"Can't be beat for the money"
For a hotel that's less then $100 a night, I have no complaints. But if I would have paid more, there are a few things, I would fix.
1. Although the room is cleaned, the carpets can probably use a shampoo.
2. First night there, someone in another room smoked, it filed our room also with smoke. time to change those filters !!! I was given another room, and a heart felt apology.
3. Water pressure is not constant. Every time I tried to take a shower, the hot water fluctuated, I was constantly playing around with knob, to keep my self from either burning or freezing.
4. Wish breakfast had more traditional selection. (Pancake, crescents rolls, and so on) Way too much meat, not enough vegetarian dishes. The sunny eggs were cold, but the hard boiled were hot. As a foreigner I found the free breakfast, not to my liking, perhaps if I were Chinese these would be fine, But not a deal breaker as there is a Starbucks a quarter mile down the road.
One NOTE: the elevators are glass, and run outside of the building, past the third floor. Our first day, we were closing our eyes in panic, by the time we left we were looking out into the river that runs next to the hotel (with a beautiful view of Taipei, especially at night). and a lot more comfortable with the ride. However if you are afraid of heights, this hotel may not be for you, unless you specify a lower floor.
