Good hotel ruined by poor service.
Having stayed in Vilamoura numerous times we knew this Hotel was a bit out the way for the beach and marina but we decided to give it a go anyway.
The hotel itself is fine, the rooms spacious, comfortable and clean, the Sunbeds are comfy.
What sadly lets it down is the staff, not that they are rude or anything, just their inability to fulfil anything. An example being ordering a taxi, what happens you book a taxi in plenty of time but the hotel only uses one taxi firm, so if you want a taxi say at 7.30pm you'll be in a queue and one night we waited over an hour as the same lady taxi driver did round trips back and to the town. My tip is get a number of a local taxi firm and book with them, not only will it be more reliable it will also by 3-4€ cheaper (the hotel ones charge 12€ and the local ones between 8-9€).
There is a shuttle bus service, it's free and the first evening one is 7.30pm, you'll need to queue a good 30mins in advance to be in with a chance of getting on it as it's full of families with kids stopping in the nearby apartments.
Also as the hotel is not near anything, no local shop, bar etc. it has a tendancy to charge high prices eg. A paper cup of coffee or tea at the pool €4.50, plastic glass of coke €4.50, Thai Salad €14 etc.
Wouldn't stop here again, back to The Lake Resort it's an all round better experience and you'll be better off after a week.
