Great value for money

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Apartment was absolutely spotless, as are all the communal areas. The pool was crystal clear and cleaned daily. Lovely quiet setting only a short walk to shops, restaurants and marina. We were looking for the cheapest deal we could find for a short break so expected something basic and were very pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend.

Excellent self catering apartment

Posted 16-Jun-2015
Pros: Very quiet and peaceful setting, nice restaurant and bar.
Location: Less than a 10 minute walk to local shop (spar) and 15 mins to marina to bars and restaurants. A taxi is just under 5 euros.
Stayed here for 9 nights in June, travelling as a couple in a studio apartment. The apartment was quite spacious for a studio and had everything you could need for a self catering break. Cannot fault anything about the apartment, the balcony was large and had room for 2 sunloungers, a small table and chairs and a clothes horse. . The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend for a quiet relaxing holiday, not for stag/hen parties or large groups looking for a lively holiday.

Nice hotel with good facilities

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar offered ice salads and reasonable prices. The site is very well maintained. The room was large & comfortable.
Location: Visit the Marina, Roman villa and Old Village.
Located 15 minutes walk up the hill from the Marina, this complex is well positioned if you are happy to include walking in your list of relaxing things to do on holiday. The hotel has two pools, the main one is more family orientated with a children's pool and is where the bar and restaurant are situated. The second is much more peaceful, has no bar but is only 100m away so easy to flit to the bar as desired. We had a pool view apartment on the ground floor, which opened onto a balcony with sun beds and steps down to the pool. This is an ideal set up and worth trying for. The nearest supermarket is ten minutes walk, the Marina is fifteen minutes ish and The Old Village is fifteen to twenty minutes walk. Vilamoura is clean and well maintained with a wide variety of restaurants and bars. We also visited the Roman villa near the Marina, which is fascinating. An enjoyable hotel and location.

Nice clean apartment in a quiet spot.

Posted 21-May-2015
Pros: Quiet, not too far to attactions. Easy for bus route etc.
Cons: Maybe some basics in the fridge if arriving late.
Location: The location was away from the busier Marina, but was close enough to walk to it and to the shops to replenish the fridge!
The apartment was surprisingly large, with comfortable furnishings, ample kitchen equipment and a wonderful sun-drenched balcony overlooking the second pool.

Posted 13-Oct-2014 on Hotels

Perfect for a September chill out break

Posted 09-Oct-2014
Pros: The manager and staff The location
Cons: Small thing but it would be useful if there was a dishcloth The key is huge so you need some space in a bag for it!
Location: 15 minute walk to marina - multiple bars and restaurants 20 minute walk to Quarteira - great fish market and huge beach promenade
I was a little nervous about staying here as it was a little way from the marina and was a lower star rating than we would usually stay at. However we had the most fantastic week. The weather was perfect which helped but from our arrival and lovely welcome to our departure we really enjoyed our week at Pinhal. The rooms are large, the shower was great, we loved the loungers on the balcony and everywhere the property was immaculately maintained. The kitchen has a sizeable fridge and small freezer section, dishwasher, 2 ring hob and a fair selection of crockery, cutlery, utensils etc. Apart from a couple of dishwasher tablets it did not have any washing up things - liquid, cloth, brush etc. It is about a 15 minute walk to the Marina (it got shorter as the week progressed!), we enjoyed this, it is not a particularly difficult walk, it is on smooth ground without a lot a lot of traffic although there is a slight slope on the way back. It was very peaceful (apart from the works being carried out in a nearby villa not connected to Pinhal) at this time of year. I would very happily return.

Nice apartment with patio doors

Posted 28-Sep-2014
Pros: The reception staff, spacious studio apartment, access to swimming pools, grounds (trees, plants, flowers), towels changed on a regular basis.
Cons: Cleanliness of apartment on arrival (bathroom mirror and area around wash basin and kitchen tops Floors dirty, table top dusty). Pillow too small.
Location: Located about 5 - 7 minute walk to supermarket. Nothing to do nearby. 15 - 20 minute walk to Vilamoura Marina.
leading to a spacious verandah with sun loungers overlooking a swimming pool and surrounded by trees and plants. Reception staff were welcoming, friendly and informative. It was my first experience of not staying somewhere where the beach was visible and was pleasantly surprised at the benefits of being able to sunbathe and access the pool in the comfort of the holiday apartment and get a drink and something to eat without having to go through the routine of leaving and going back to the beach. I would definately recommend renting a car if staying at the apartments as it is a good 15 minute walk to Vilamoura Marina and there is no public transport in the vicinity, leaving taxis as the main source of transport to explore surrounding areas.
