Been here before and really enjoyed it then not so much this time ,its amazing what difference a room makes. Last time double bed top floor quite lovely balcony facing sun great shower .Thus time 2nd floor 2 single beds shower in bath balcony not facing sun and a barking dog all night. Shame.

Overall we enjoyed our stay
Clean apartment. Helpful staff. Free shuttle bus to the beach and town twice a day at set times. Pool was a bit dirty when we arrived, but it was cleaned every morning and improved a bit over the week. Room was cleaned daily if required. Kitchen was fine but no chopping board or other useful implements such as tin opener etc. The balcony was very narrow which made it difficult for a family of 4 to sit out.

Fantastic stay
I’ve stayed before and this place never disappoints. The staff are absolutely fantastic, always willing to help. The property is in a perfect location, 5 mins walk to the beach and 5 mins to the supermarket. The rooms are huge, spotlessly clean and comfortable with lovely balconies. I think officially it’s 3 star but it’s certainly deserving of more.

The good: - close walking distance to the beach - safe and clean The average: - picky on clean shower towels - we were a party of 4, received only 3 large shower towels. Reception didn't want to provide more - small parking lot nearby. Most of the times, you'll have to park on the side streets nearby - only 1 common AC in the common area, no additional AC in the main bedroom - lacking appropriate cutlery such as cutting knife if you want to prepare your own meal - pool area is busy if you want to just chill

For example the microwave was on the bottom shelf in a cupboard which I could not possibly lift out also no plugs in the kitchen area even to plug a kettle in . Lovely 1 bedroom appartment with kitchen and 2 balconies. Pool and bar was also nice. Pool was a tjny bit cold but we were there in may. Parking for free outside the hotel. Reception was a bit rude and wouldnt let us check in until we presented a voucher. Showing the email was not good enough and they made us find the booking, email it etc.. should all just be on the computer. Also, no washing up liquid or sponge to do dishes.

As other reviews have stated, these apartments are a little dated but spotlessly clean and the staff are really pleasant. What did stand out were the electrics in the apartment. They are just bizarre. There are 15 light switches and only 8 lights. There is no logic as to which switch controls which light and 6 of the switches do not control anything. There are plenty of plug sockets but most of them are placed where they are no use. The kitchen area only has 2 and one of those is at chest height directly above the sink so you can't plug any of the appliances directly into it. The other is next to the sink but the work surface there is only large enough to fit a toaster, and that is at a push. The microwave oven was stored away in a cupboard at floor level with a plug socket. I got around this by purchasing a 3 gang extension cable for 5 euros from a 'Chinese' store down on the front. Most of the rest of the sockets are not near a surface where you can place any appliance/phone etc. Example: there is one socket between the twin beds but the bedside tables are on the outsides. There is also no light switch near the bed so you have to find your way to bed in the dark. Why they don't put a bedside table in the middle with a lamp on it, God only knows. It's clear that, at some point, someone has decided to rearrange all the furniture in the apartment but not taken the placement of the sockets and switches into account.

Don't stay here
Had to leave after 1 night of planned 4 night trip because the property was so cold. Heating completely inadequate and none in bedroom. Hotel reception could not offer any solution.

It was a nice stay. The room is very large, it has one bedroom, one bathroom, and a very nice living room that has a kitchen The only downside is that I went in the winter, and the room is very cold. But it was very good overall

Returned for many years
We have returned to this hotel for many years - speaks for itself! The situation is convenient with a local bus service and, in all but winter months, a free hotel bus to local resorts. Local taxis are quite cheap.

It's all downhill from here
Self catering apartments, no dining toom but snack bar open until 1am every day. Food good but basic, which sums up the hotel really, rooms clean but a bit dated, Pool nice and plenty of sunbeds. Bus to town or Praia da Rocha 3 times a day, either walkable as the hotel seems to be on the brow of a hill so walk down and bus (free) or taxi (5€ or less) back to hotel.Town nice for a wander, lots of little alleyways. Lot of steps down to beach. The Waterfront at The Marina served lovely food. Bamboo Garden good Chinese. Lidl/Aldi walking distance, taxi back. Shops or restaurants will call a taxi for you. Could only get News Channels on TV, and internet very poor in rooms, better by pool/reception but not fabulous

Nice relaxing hotel
Nice hotel that is about 10-15 min walk to the beach, or if you don't want to walk they have a free shuttle bus service available just for staying with them. Lovely area is just out of the town so it's peaceful to relax and lounge around the pool. Lovely staff and always helpful.

Lovely hotel with great staff
Room and rest of hotel were very clean. Plenty of space in room for two people with a lovely balcony. Fridge wasn't turned on when we got there but staff were very helpful in sorting it. Television didn't have many channels but wasn't an issue as we didn't watch it much. Wifi was hit and miss (best in the bar), but as we were out every day this wasn't really a problem. Reception staff were very friendly. Pool was very cold, especially in the morning, but nice for a dip to cool off. Close enough to walk into town or to the beach, or shuttle bus at various times of day. Overall had a great holiday for a low price, couldn't have asked for more!

We stayed 20 nights, bed lined changed 3 times, towels every 3 days sometimes more often. floors washed everyday, beds made. café & bar open until late. English books in cupboard in reception no charge. Mini bus into town or beach 3 times a day, but last one about 6p.m. but local bus no. 14 from town is cheap. No restaurants or entertainment very close, but within walking distance if you like walking, I don't but we had a car. TV is very old & small, BBC news but mostly from USA & Africa. Larger modern TV in bar & Reception. Reception staff OK but not over friendly, spoke English. cleaning staff were efficient & friendly buy no English spoken. Suited us as we are an older couple & happy to sit & read, but if you want nightlife the this isn't the place for you. We'd be happy to return.

i needed to stay a night somewhere so I chose this hotel. It was convenient and clean. The furniture was old and there was no soap in the bathroom. But I didn't bother. I managed with my own stuff. The bathroom is very clean which is good. It had a kitchennette.

Hotel very good however a bit far away from beach and restaurants. shuttle service quite good but could do with one more into town around 7.30 pm. staff very friendly and helpful.

15/20 minute walk to excellent beach. 10 mins walk to 2 supermarkets though 35/40 mins to train station and town which was sprawling. Free shuttle good but nothing after 7 and no public transport after 8pm. Rooms spacious and well serviced - air con remote available from reception.

LOVELY
Hotel was lovely , dont take any notice of the pictures you see, especially the front of the hotel , nicer inside . Room was big, 308 one bedroom apartment two balconies, very clean , and bathroom, with bath and shower seemed to be new. Lounge and kitchen very nice , only no kettle , but wish i had asked for one. Staff are lovely people and always helpful, very nice people all of them. thank you to Dora and Ludmilla on reception very busy ladies at times , but always cheerful, and nothing too much trouble. Hope they see this review. Pool small but lovely , lots of sunbeds , and some days not too busy. Shuttle bus free to the beach three times a day , and back. Have to just choose your time to go if you want to use it . Very useful. But only 12 mins walk if feeling fit ! I lov walking . Ferraguo is worth a visit on the water taxi you can catch at the Marina , 6 euros there and back , you can come back up until eleven at night . You tell the captain. Lovely place lots of restuarants and shops to see and beautiful beach.. Alvor is another lovely place to visit , just 6 euros in a taxi. This hotel is lovely , i would go back tomorrow if i could , miss it already. Thank you for a lovely stay. Priai de Rocha beach is massive and beautiful, the Marina you can walk to on this beach and does not take long , lovely to walk along the sand. Hope this helps anyone who wants to stay .Enjoy.!

Great Value, good location, friendly staff.
Nice spacious clean apparent, good location 10 main walk to supermarkets, 15 main walk to the beach and strip and a 20 main walk to town centre and aqua portimao shopping centre. Free shuttle bus also available. Nice pool and terrace for sunbathing. The bar is very nice and has free Wi-Fi and staff very helpful and polite and are happy to book you excursions to the nearby water parks. Recommended.

Nice apartment on our first visit to Portugal
This was our first visit to Portugal and we decided to stay self catering at the Apartmento Mirachoro II. The room we had was nice, clean & comfortable. Cleaners came in every day with clean sheets, which was an added bonus! The only drawbacks were lack of cooking articles and the balcony which was overlooked by the other guests side window. Twice we had to put up with noisy guests, which kept us awake a couple of nights. Unfortunately the reception staff didn't seem too bothered by this. We had a meal in the bar area which was nice, and quite reasonably priced. The younger reception staff were very pleasant & friendly, but the older one's weren't as friendly. There is a bus that takes you to the town or beach two or three times a day, which was great! as they were both at least a 10 min walk away from the hotel via very busy roads which were not too easy to cross at times! but we enjoyed walking around. All in all a pleasurable first visit to Portugal and the good points outweighed the bad. We enjoyed our stay there.
