Good location
On street parking if you’re lucky enough to find it. Good location for walking city center & shopping. Interesting area. Nice dining room with views of the harbor.

Front desk staff - very indifferent mix of people
Our 2 hotel rooms were very clean and spacious, had no "smell" and we were very happy with them. The brunch is a huge spread of items and delicious. Our only complaint was that they were very strict about check in time of 3pm. We arrived at 10am and they kept our bags. We had 2 rooms and all other hotels always give us a room as soon as one of them is ready. Also, we told one clerk that we wanted a take away breakfast for one of our very early mornings. I later went back to confirm the time and they said it would cost 105 NOK per bag. Then I went back to request 2 of of them to be vegetarian and she said it was already noted. And there was no charge. Only outside hotel guests were charged. Of course, the morning of, they were all ham and cheese sandwiches. All of these were different clerks so cant think i waa nothering them. The clerks put on a smile but really didn't feel welcomed from the start. Cant quite put my finger on it so can't give them 5 stars.

Regarding the check in from 15:00, since you have booked a certain room types we were not able to check you in before the designated check in time. I apologize for the mix up with the take -away breakfast. There are 2 type of take away breakfast we offer- one is for the guests who have to leave early and are not able to have breakfast at the hotel- this one is free of charge, the other one is if the guest had breakfast already and would like to have a "lunch" package, this one costs 105,- NOK per person. I am also very sorry that we were not able to arrange the vegetarian option as you have requested. We hope that dispite for that you had a nice stay with us.

Awesome hotel! I had the business room and the view was magnificent. Also, the size of the room was large and the window was curved so could see all the sides too. The restaurant had very delicious food. The grilled lamb was my favorite.

A++++ quality with excellent service.
Excellent customer service that went out of their way to accommodate my family needs, clean hotel with a wide selection of breakfast options catering to all. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful place and a great deal.
Highly recommended. We booked this hotel after staying at the Thon in Kristiansund. It seems that the whole chain is generously run with the utmost desire of making their guests happy. The decor is tasteful and happy, our room had a great water view, the location is perfect to explore this amazingly beautiful city, and the famous Thon breakfast is to die for. The staff was also extremely kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you!

Wonderful stay in Alesund!
The hotel and its location, cleanliness, and mostly the friendliness and care of the staff were superb. The breakfasts were delicious as well. Highly recommend the Thon Hotel in Alesund!

1st time in Norway
Great location. The hotel is very clean, service is nice. View is gorgeous. Parking is in the basement of the hotel, a bit tight but worked for our Toyota Rav4.

A peaceful place!
I especially want to mention Christine the night manager on night duty when we arrived. She went above the 'call of duty ' to help us( our suitcase had been broken into on the journey). Also the location of the hotel is beautiful, you get a marvelous view of Alesund's harbour.

Two things stand out about this hotel: Location and Breakfast. The building itself is nothing to brag about, if anything, it could.use a little bit of overall renovation. But the value considering it's great location with spectacularly views of the coast and right in the middle of the charming Alusend old town is unmatched (considering also every thing in Norway is very expensive). Breakfast was also our family favourite, salmon galore!. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Bathrooms are clean and well equipped.

Great location. Amazing breakfast buffet. Clean and spacious room. You might want to ask for a room away from the street. Ours was a bit noisy.

Good hotel and location
Good hotel and good location. We upgraded and asked for SEA view which we got. Breakfast was fine but not fantastic. Room and bed were comfortable, but we do not like to climbe into the bathtub to take a shower.

Easy access. Just a little shortchanged by the miscommunication between staff over packing of my breakfast. Luckily I still reached my train with 5mins to departure.
