Cheap and cheerful
Good location. Mike the host was a lovely guy, very friendly and helpful. I do feel though that the place could do with some maintenance as it's looking rather tired. Also the cleaning schedule is slipping I feel - the room was quite dirty. It was cheap and cheerful but the condition may put some folk off. We did feel welcome however and can't fault the cooked breakfast!

Clean bedroom but shared bathroom could do with a bit of maintenance and more through cleaning, the loo brush had no bristles, not good when there were at least 5 of us sharing the bathroom the day I stayed. Could do with more loo roll leaving in there as well. Overall a bit tired but probably reflect in price. Good breakfast and bar staff made me some food even though I was late arriving.

Got to the accommodation tired and hungry after a long journey only to find it was over booked. I booked the accommodation a while before. The communications between the owners was awful, they messed up. The lady who worked there on the reception was lovely and helped us find alternative accommodation. She stayed until somewhere else was found, even tho her shift had ended. She appologised and said this shoukd never have happened. Cant say what it was like in the rooms etc as never got to see them. My brother who is autistic was a little confused and not happy about the situation. Best the owners communicate better between each other.

The room was basic but neat and tidy. Decor is old but clean and good repair. Breakfast on my furst morning was good but unfortunately was not available for the rest of my stay.

This gentleman unfortunately didn’t stay with us as he stated it wasn’t to his liking after having looked in the room. A few days later we received a phone call from him stating that if we gave him a refund he would leave us a ‘nice’ review saying we were nice people BUT if we did not give him a refund he would give us a bad review!! I don’t need to give a refund to someone who makes threats towards us to know that we are nice hard working people. Our accommodation is not as stated by this gentleman, who phoned and made threats towards us, it was just the fact that he had not fully read the room description then decided not to stay after seeing the room after about 20 seconds!!

The accomodation was very basic. I guess for the price I couldn't complain, but I will not be returning. The room was tiny with no window to the outside (only a high up window that led into the corridor) The floorboards were extremely creaky, which meant that as people walked up and down the corridor outside I got woken up - until around 12 midniight and then it started again at around 5am! (My room was next to the bathroom) I ate in the pub the first night and both the Scampi and chips tasted of old cooking oil, which I had to disguise with tartar sauce and I left a lot.

Sorry our accommodation wasn’t for you but we do advertise ourselves as ‘basic B&B’ we are set in an old pub and the room is advertised as a small internal box room so sorry but not sure what you were expecting from our descriptions?? We change the oil in our fryers regularly but if you had of said something to us at the time then we could have rectified the problems!!

I always travel for work. After a bad experience in one of the hotels and couple of Air BNB, this place was all I needed. From my first night I slept like a baby, the bed is so comfortable and the room is clean. Staff is very kind, friendly and professional. When you far from home, affordable places like this are difficult to find especially in Surrey. This will be my home for the next 3 weeks and looking forward to be back.

Avoid like the plague - or risk catching it !!
Very disappointing stay at probably the worst lodgings I've had the misfortune to visit ! Cold room, heater broken, TV remote missing so wouldn't switch in, matress very old - like sleeping on a sponge cake ! All points mentioned but nothing rectified. Still waiting a refund from Hotels !!

unfortunately if you had of came and spoke to us whilst you stayed here we could of rectified any problems but we were not made aware of any problems. I have since checked the heater, which is working fine, the mattress is not that old but is a soft mattress so this will be changed. The remote control is in the room. We only charge 29 pounds and clearly state that we are basic accommodation. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a TV and tea & Coffee facilites.

A real English pub with friendly staf.
A great experience to be a guest in this hotel. The room was very small but so was the price and all I did in my room was to sleep. In the evening a great dinner, nice company in the pub. Next morning a full English breakfast. Yes, I have been in better hotels but for the price this is absolute the best value for money.
