I think this location gives you good access to nearby areas (Serra Mamede for example) well as the points of interest in Portalegre. We really enjoyed the textile museum. "It was right off the main entrance to the town across from the aqueduct-no need to drive up the narrow fortress roads into Elvas city center! Room was sufficient to my needs and lots of tv channels in several languages available.
