Pros: On arrival we received a warm welcome. Staff, were all very polite and friendly. The views were lovely. Hotel, was very clean. BBQ on Thursday.
Cons: Mattresses were a little on the hard side. No, entertainment around the pool area. Could have done with some music.
Location: Old Town is worth a visit which is about 10 mins away. Also beaches not far from hotel. Marinheiro restaurant is a must, amazing food 5 min walk away.
We had an excellent time here. Staff, were are very friendly and polite. Nice, view from the room facing the sea. A wide variety of food, (themed nights) a highlight for us was the BBQ on a Thursday around the pool. Rooms were cleaned daily. Plenty of sun loungers so you didn't have to rush to get one. The two little things that could have been improved were the mattresses are a little on the hard side and there could have been some music around the pool. Apart from that, we had a wonderful time. There is also entertainment in the piano bar which was okay. Old Town is a must, it is literally about 10 minutes away from hotel so costs just under £20 euros return. A 5 minute walk from hotel is an excellent place to eat called the Marinheiro restaurant. Amazing food and prices are very reasonable. This is a must, just wish we would have found this place sooner. About 1km away in one direction is the beach and about 2km the other way is another beach. The hotel is situated a little bit out of town away from all the clubs and bars so is very peaceful which was great, but still near enough to a great restaurant and beaches. We, will definitely be returning to the Baia Grande hotel in the future. Highly recommended.

Hotel

A very basic room. Towels were meant to be changed every other day but ours weren't changed for for first 4 days. Bed sheets changed once. Our room wasn't cleaned until 5 pm on a couple od days. Used glasses weren't changed and left. The floor was dirty, was swept but never cleaned. Very noisy...... people shouting and slamming doors, furniture dragged on the tiled floor. In he restaurant which was very small the food wasn't replenished quick enough and we had to queue to get into the restutant.

Nice clean friendly hotel

Posted 05-Aug-2017
On arrival friendly staff booked us in and provided a comprehensive orientation of the hotel. Room was clean and welcoming. Would have been nice to be offered a double bed as opposed to two singles for my wife and I. As a bed and breakfast holiday the breakfast element seemed to be value for money but at dinner time the buffet food available didn't really excite you and seemed a tad over priced for what it was so for the first night we ate in the restaurant but thereafter we ate out. One complaint would be the hotel staff and their knowledge of local eateries, they didn't seem to know of any even though we found a handful just around the corner, it was as if they were told not to advertise anywhere to eat other than the hotel. So I would suggest people have a wonder around once they arrive and speak to the taxi drivers they will give you valuable eating info. Apart from that total thumbs up for Hotel Baia Grandé.

Dear Desmond Thank you for your review and I am pleased you enjoyed your stay with us overall. I apologise for not being able to provide a double bed but this has been hotel policy since opening however when the information reaches us we normally prepare the two single beds as a double. With regards to the local eateries, you would be surprised how manny times we have guests return from dinner/lunch and give us a scolding because our suggestion was misleading. The maps provided at reception indicate quite a few restaurants in the area so I asure you no one has been told not to advertise. Clear case of whats good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Look forward to seeing you again Regards Paulo

Lovely hotel, clean and tidy with some entertainment. Staff mostly very friendly. Food good and plenty of restaurants within walking distance or a short taxi ride if it's too hot to walk! Pool was a good size and we never had a problem finding a sunbed, even with school holiday season in full swing. Good mix of ages. Hotel situated in a slightly quieter location between Albufeira and Gale, easy to get to both by hotel minibus (free) or taxi (about 8 euro). We liked that it wasn't too busy. We loved it, as did our 6 year old.

So so lovely, and unexpected for the price that we paid. It was 5 star service and very clean and easy. The breakfast buffet was great and shuttle busses were organised to make travel easier for us and very friendly staff. Thank you for our stay!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and had a good sense of humour. Breakfast was fab and the pool area was relaxing and not too crowded. Definitely a recommended hotel from us!

Nice hotel

Nice hotel. Staff very pleasant. Free bus service into marina, beach and town was very useful however would have been great if the times were a little more spread out. The late bus into town and marina would have been good a little later. Piano bar was very relaxing but would have been good if there were livelier music on some nights. But overall very relaxing holiday. The indoor pool was very much needed when the temperature got too high. Our room had every thing that was needed. However looked a little tired.

Hello Kathy, thank you for your review. We shall consider and try and improve where possible. We have begun remodeling the rooms however with the hotel satying open 365 days we are doing this in stages and hopefully this winter we will be able to advance with another section. Kindest regards Paulo

Perfect for families and couples.

The hotel was clean and had good facilities. The pool was great - nice and big and the pool bar was fab and not overpriced. The hotel staff overall were very friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast included but there was a very good selection of food everyday which was really good quality. The hotel offers a free bus to albufeira and to a nearby beach (though there is a lovely beach within walking distance). The only thing I would have really appreciated was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Overall, a very nice stay, great location, great value for money and I would recommend this place to a friend.

Hello Lisa, thank you for your review and I am pleased your stay was a pleasent one. We will be considering the possibility of adding the mentioned facilities to our rooms however, this was not contemplated originally in the hotel services but definitely a point to consider. Thank you once again regards Paulo

Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and staff are great. It's on a hill which gives you great views of the ocean. The shuttle bus runs all day to take you into the town/beach. There's also couple of bars close by. Had a great stay here and would definitely go back.

Nice hotel....

Posted 05-Jun-2017
Pros: It was clean, spacious lovely friendly helpful staff music nightly (except Monday night) with a courtesy bus facility to Albuferia....
Cons: As I have said I think it should add a teas making facility to their rooms...
Location: The location is quiet ...there are some restaurants nearby but the roads are narrow and not suitable for walking ...it is very quiet area....
The hotel was very nice, it lacked tea making facilities in the bed room ....
