Have been to many AM Resorts and this newly built Secrets is wonderful. We had a glitch with getting the right room the first night but were able to move the next day. The food and drinks were all very good. We would return.
This is a very simple hotel that has location as one of it's best attributes. After being here for 10 days, I stayed with wife and friends, by myself, and with members of a business retreat. Although it was peak season, it never seemed crowded. It was never noisy, the continental breakfast was good, and everything was clean and in good condition. Overall, I'm delighted that we stayed and most happy that the Villas allowed me to do what I most wanted - central location for exploring and getting quiet on a peaceful beach.
It all started as a dream - Las Villas Akumal- first existed in the imagination of its creator architect Nicolas Hadjopulos- …More
Grand Sirenis didn't disappointed us at all. I thought it will, but the 2nd time was actually better than the first. My family and I had an amazing time and we saw new activities in the resort. The entertainment team at the resort is amazing and the daily activities is out of this world. My family and I have been to a few all- inclusive resorts and none have been as good as Grand Sirenis.
I wanted to surprise my mother with a trip for mother's day and this hotel was perfect for the trip. We had an all inclusive plan for 4 days and 3 nights and the place was lovely. The people were fun and polite, The food was pretty good. The hotel ground was large. Sadly there wasn't much beach space but it wasn't a bother because we still had beach space and many pools around.
The property had exactly what I wanted...proximity to beautiful Akumal Bay. We ended up in a 1 BR condo with a balcony on the bay. Fantastic view.
We originally booked a pool view room, but requested the upgrade upon arrival. Noel(sp?) was very welcoming and after some cajoling he was able to find us a Sea View room for the night.
Snorkeling and diving are popular in the small resort town of Akumal, and at Kantenah beach to the north, where the coastline runs parallel to a protected coral reef. In the summer months, sea turtles crawl onto the white-sand beaches by moonlight to lay their eggs. Yal-Ku Lagoon, once a trading route for the ancient Maya, is a bird watcher’s paradise, and can be explored by foot or kayak.
