First room offered smelt vile. As rooms are recently refurbished the staff member said was just a paint smell but it was far worse than that. He did willingly offer another room. Second room smelt much better and just a slight paint smell which was fine. Ordered food and collected. It was awful. The crumbed chicken breast was like cardboard. The side dressing of coleslaw tasted off. If was eating at the restaurant would have returned meal and complained. The quality of the refurb is very poor. Shower door hard to open. A mirror is situated near front door and unless curtain fully pulled people walking past can see the bed in full view. The cupboards are cheap quality. I don’t recommend a stay here.

The location is perfect for someone who loves quiet area, and it’s close to bus station which is easy to get the bus to main street. They are doing the renovation atm that room looks pretty and clean.

The staff were very friendly and helpful….especially Jessika, Sommer and Jude. After a 9 hour train ride it was fabulous to have preordered a pizza ready for pick up. Thanks to Jessika and the fellow working in the bar who kept it hot for us until we arrived. Much appreciated! The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfy! The hotel entrance, pool area, bar and restaurant are beautiful. The buffet breakfast was delicious! I would recommend this hotel!

I booked a partial coastal view room which was supposed to have a private balcony. No balcony, no coastal view, no lift access, has to carry our luggage down 2 flights of stairs and dodge 2 hallways of renovations, couldn’t open a window because of the noise of renovations. Left the day we arrived. Rude staff. Absolutely terrible experience

Super Hotel
Lovely stuff at this hotel, very helpful and informative. Helping us to find a way around the town too much trouble. The restaurant staff were excellent I never really had any other interactions with any of the other staff, except when we checked in very easy to check-in straightforward. Lovely Hotel is highly recommended.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovation. We stayed in an older room. The shower door leaked and the bathroom and room smelt off damp. Luckily we only had a night en route South, The receptionist on check out was not bothered about the state of the rooms.

Generally clean and tidy but tired. Upon our arrival the reception person was rude and argumentative refusing to take cash for holding security deposit despite it listing on our check in policy cash was acceptable and then continued to degrade “Expedia” as a third party. Our room had a flooding issue in the bathroom resulting in a dangerous safety risk. The reception gentleman on Saturday evening admitted they were aware of this issue and just offered more towels to soak up the water which ran from the shower recess to cover the entire bathroom floor. He was pleasant and empathetic however the room poses such a risk it should not have been offered as accommodation to guests. We were not offered a room change or compensation to our stay.

We booked a few months ago and do not recall seeing anything regarding the renovations that were meant to finish prior to our stay. We got no updates regarding the extension of the renovations and that they would be continuing through our stay. Only received notification regarding the kitchen operating with a (very) limited menu. Our room had a horrible fish smell, door to bathroom would get stuck, as did door to the room and shower door opened into the bathroom making getting into the shower very awkward. Sincerely hope it was not a renovated room!! The staff were helpful where they could be and dining staff nice and friendly.

Overall, the property is excellent. The pool is great and the breakfast was delicious. They have laundry and a 24 hour fitness facility. All of the staff was very friendly. The structure of this resort is that they don’t service your room during your stay. This wouldn’t have been a problem, except that the shower design floods the bathroom floor, and there is no way to keep it dry, so your bathroom is constantly wet. The other notable issue it to make sure your curtains are shut just right. If you walk past people’s rooms, you can see everything inside with the reflection of the mirror.

The beds are very hard. Quite uncomfortable. Breakfast would be better as continental only as the cooked foods are terrible. Bacon is more like dried up jerky and the eggs are very ordinary. I nearly broke a tooth on the hash browns. Coffee sachets or you have to pay extra for a proper coffee. Should be included. I did like the apricot pastries, luckily they were purchased elsewhere.

The property was very nice the only thing we would have liked was a set of drawers in the room. We were there for a week and no where to unpack our cases. We also had to ask for a couple of chairs for the room as the ‘couch’ was not good for my husband’s back and neither was the bed for sitting on. Staff were lovely and very helpful, the room was refreshed mid way through our stay and the laundry facilities were very clean.

I loved that when we arrived that we could relax by the pool and a big selection in breakfast menu. The only thing was it’s away from centre of airlie to go do daily tours.

Very dated, peeling paint, broken curtains, rusty shower screen, housekeeping didn’t clean our room once in 3 nights, TV reception was terrible and the pool had stains on the bottom that made it look dirty. They’re also renovating half the hotel which was noisy and we weren’t notified before we got there.
