The "Mazarin" Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We expected difficulties due to its location on a narrow mediaeval street, but getting there was easy and parking, while tight, was also acceptable. With the car safely put away, we explored what the hotel had to offer. There is no elevator - instead very many stately stairs. If you have luggage, a lot of luggage, that might be a problem. Well, it wasn't. Before we knew it, the receptionists joined forces and brought everything up. After this stay we concluded that hospitality was invented in France. The whole atmosphere is calm and welcoming which immediately puts one at ease. The room is large and fairly well appointed, the only thing missing being a couch or armchair.
The hotel, located inside the city walls, is a short walk to anywhere. Aigues Mortes is a lovely place with lots of exciting things to see and do. Do not miss the boat trips and the phenomenal Saline.

Perfect for us on a cycling holiday. Bikes secured on our own patio where we dined each evening after using the outdoor swimming pool. Just across the road from two large supermarkets, a bakery and a very reasonable bar/club.
3 mins drive / 20 mins walk/ 5 mins cycle into town.
The Saint Louis is in the center of town and is an excellent choice for a stay inside the city walls. The staff is friendly and the hotel restaurant is of high quality. While the menu did not offer a vegetarian option, the chef prepared the finest vegetarian meal of my three weeks in the south of France on this trip. Parking outside of the city walls is advised.

Our host was superb!!! The only complaint was the bed was hard but the hotel was beautiful. The location was perfect and walking distance to the walled city. Our host was amazing and extremely helpful. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat

Stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and even though it's pretty basic, the room was ok, the staff were excellent and very accommodating (but you do need to speak in French as their english is almost non existent).
The breakfast was good (if pretty basic continental) and there's probably a better deal just walking into Aigues-Mortes and having it at one of the local bakeries.
Sound insulation was not the best as you could hear your noisy neighbours (especially showers).

The staff were absolutely nice and accommodating. True to the region, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming--happy to serve in whatever way would make my stay comfortable. The room was adequately sized for my purposes and I could see staying 4-7 days very comfortably there although my stay was only for two nights. The location is very convenient but quiet--felt tucked away although when I was in the garden I could hear faint sounds of traffic--nothing disturbing about that though. Dinner requires reservations which can be made at the front desk. Dinner was wonderful, local flavor and accompanied in my case, by a beautiful bottle of Languedoc organic wine. Breakfast was adequate and average. I would definitely stay again if in the region.

The charming medieval town of Aigues-Mortes is renowned for its well-preserved city wall dating back to the 13th century. Take the ramparts circuit to discover the main highlights, including the Constance Tower stronghold and the Notre-Dame de Sablons parish church. There is also a small Museum of History and Archeology and a private Automobile Museum.
