Hotel deserves its five star rating. Rooms are really attractive, location is right on the beach, staff are friendly and efficient. The sea water swimming pool is a real bonus. We loved drinks on the terrace at sunset.

Gorgeous hotel on the waterfront - the most impressive in Saint Jean de Luz, with a nice (simple) spa. The staff are the highlight - effortlessly efficient & totally capable - from the (handsome) door men to the amazing receptionist, capable maids & talented masseuse. The whole hotel was immaculately presented, including the room. My only disappointment was that the room was far too hot without the window open, and much too noisy with it open. So I didn’t sleep as well as I could have. This was a city facing room.

This is a beautiful property in a lovely location. The beach is easily accessible and the terrace is lovely. The standard room was the smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen. AC not particularly effective.

Friendly and attentive staff without being intrusive. Rooms are small but comfortable. Nice amenities - robes/slippers, spa access, towel warming rack in bathroom, Nespresso and electric kettle in room, with chocolates delivered nightly.

Fine for one night
We went because we had a wedding. The hotel is nice, but the room and especially the bathroom was tiny. I had no space to put my makeup bag, and we had to take turns brushing our teeth. The curtains are not blackout curtains so the sun comes in the oversized windows bright and early. The spa is nice enough but nothing special, just a pool really.

One of Biarritz brighter parts
The hotel is slightly out of town, but close to St Charles which has a few shops and couple of good restaurants, staff very helpful especially the concierge who recommended the fab Le Bistro Gourmet. The atrium & bar is amazing and the rooms are very nicely done with lovely modern bathrooms with a fab walk in shower. The pool is quite small but there are plenty of sun beds, the fitness suite is extremely disappointing a dark & small room with air con water dripping onto the running machine, which was a concern & needs addressing as a H&S issue.

Right on the beach and the luxurious accommodations of the hotel. Our room was extremely comfortable, the bedding excellent quality, good shower, coffee and tea makers. We chose a room on the city side but could view the beach from the bathroom mini balcony. On the 2nd floor we had very little noise from the street. The air conditioning was extremely quiet and functional. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Lovely hotel close to the beach but over priced.
Lovely hotel, family room nice although they gave the children a quilt cover with blanket inside which slipped down inside (which they rectified on the 2nd night) I would exp cr when paying for a room 4 that the children get the same quality bedding it’s not a cheap room!! The aircon is centrally controlled and not that cold - they couldn’t rectify this. Bar and restaurant areas lovely and modern; spa / pool a bit tired in places but generally good. Overall I don’t think it offers value for money, way too expensive not to be perfect and for xcelmnt condition. The rooms slightly tired and next doors’ room service tray stayed outside from 8am until 10pm when I asked the staff to remove! Some of these are small points but not acceptable for the price paid.

Hotel has air conditioning but it is locked into a set position and cannot be adjusted. In our one day ( we Were forced to abandon the hotel ) stay we were given three different rooms all of which were at least 80 degrees Fahrenheit. We received plenty of apologies from the staff and the manager and we were offered a fan to cool the room. NO WAY FIVE STAR HOTEL. If you book here make sure to pack an extra bathing suit to sleep in at night. Finally manager refunded our last nights stay and made us a last minute ( 10 PM at night ) reservation in the Maria Cristina Hotel in San Sebastián. This hotel is five stars, maybe even six stars and guess what : it has air conditioning and it works as one would expect to work. Just to be clear about the above review it is being written by someone who is an experienced world traveler. Also the pool is in a dark basement, ugh !!!!!

An architectural delight for me, since I love design, colour, and structure. The moment one approaches the Grand Hotel Thalasso and Spa, one feels special just by the red carpeted stairs going towards the entrance. The doorman opens the entrance and a porter offers to take your luggage from you. Exactly what a 5 star hotel should begin with for each guest. A quick and clear explanation of the basic, important items are communicated. In addition, upon my call to the hotel advising of my arrival to station a taxi was waiting for me, thanks to the employee. The rooms are special, minimal decor, with rich, vibrant colours and extra attention to detail. For example, a box of macaroons awaits for one to enjoy; each day one is treated to chocolate. Complimentary tea and bottle of water to pair with your chocolates. Overall, the hotel facilities and spa are exceptionally clean, and kept looking new. Definitely a hotel I would consider staying in for my future travels.

5 star service on the beach q
Beautiful hotel on the beach, well-kept and clean. Excellent service! We had a problem upon arrival and the front desk manager, Olivier, handled it so well, we rearranged our plans and stayed two extra days. We really had a great stay in the hotel and in the area thanks to him! Bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. There is also a pillow menu. Bathrooms are well equipped, the toilet is separate in some rooms, all rooms have a waterfall shower and a handheld (this one has good water pressure), showers are well-sized. Location is directly on the beach. Beachfront rooms have sliding doors allowing you to feel the ocean air. We lived waking up to the feel and sound of the ocean! The beach is a beautiful, soft sand beach. There was an aereal show when we were here and while the crowds were gathered elsewhere, we enjoyed it from the comfort of our room. Fantastic! The rooms are on the three floors above the lobby, except for four "City" rooms on the ground floor. Concierge and staff will let you know all the happenings (and for a beautiful little town, there were a lot) and also provide information on nearby cities. The town itself is lovely, but do visit Biarritz and San Sebastian if you have some time. You'll be glad you did. Highly recommend this place! Bonus note: there's a great wine shop in town called La Tour des Vins - the owner lived in Bordeaux for years.
