Treated Like Royalty
We stayed one night in January 2017.
The hotel sent a driver to the train station and we were welcomed in grand style and treated like VIPs the whole time.
The room was enormous and they upgraded us to the top floor with a view of the Taj. The amenities and toiletries were new and up to date.
They arranged transportation to gardens and the Taj, and the driver went in with us to make sure we got everything we needed and were not overcharged or accosted by guides. He even flagged down a cart to take us to the Taj Mahal from the booking office and held seats for us.
Breakfast was elaborate and delicious. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, which was tasty and there was a telescope set up for stargazing.
My wife was unwell during our stay, and all of the staff members we interacted with had the utmost concern for her health and offered to get us medicine, medical help, extra pillows, tea, and about anything else we could want.
The lobby had nightly entertainment including a Rajasthani puppet show and soothing sitar music.
The hotel partners with a charity to support women in rural areas, and donations can be added to the bill.
Leaving for a late-night train journey, the staff put together a package of sandwiches, apples, juiceboxes, and bread rolls to see us through.
