Overall had a good time at St Nicolas Bay Resort Hotel and Spa. Positives were beautiful grounds, clean and new rooms (we stayed in the junior deluxe club sea view suite), a few options for eating at hotel, very good spa facilities and treatments; friendly staff; very good views, good restaurants within 15-25 minutes walk to town, few options for sunbathing (pools, beach and rocks), good parking facilities, and they kindly let us have a late check-out 19:00 pm. Less positives were food and service was mixed and pricie (I guess price is what you'd expect for a resort, but we found the quality elsewhere a lot better for much less). Our shower had really good water pressure but wouldn't drain / blocked so had to turn off during shower when washing hair. I travelled with my sister and we spent 5 days at resort, I had requested a twin bed room but they couldn't provide. Also very difficult to get sun-bed near the pool. You have to go early and put your towel down. Overall we loved Crete and the beach and weather was the absolute highlight!

We booked our stay right at the end of the season, in the middle of October, but the weather was beautiful and it was still warm enough to swim in the complex's infinity pool. The suite was tasteful and comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The Argo restaurant was accomplished, if pricey, but visitors really must try The Ferryman in Elounda.

Excellent resort geared up nicely for families of all ages. Went in early April and lucked out with weather - not too hot. The pools are cold this time of year though but this is catered for with one of the children's pool heated. Family of 4 with 4 year old and 18 month toddler.

Stayed for two nights in a pool villa. hotel accessed by steps, no alternative, although Thomas helped us with our bags and he even re parked our car. Reception area stunning, staff charming. Also met and greeted by the manager, a charming women. Large pool and surrounds, even larger bar! Very quiet. So far impressed. PoolVilla: More steps! Room fine, nice modern bathroom with roomy shower, big comfy bed. Outside space very limited, pool not large but adequate. No sun after lunch. Not much privacy. Wifi useless (we reported this and the next morning before breakfast it was fine. After breakfast and the rest of our stay, useless, very frustrating. Food: Breakfast buffet, good. A la carte dining a nice experience. You sit in little cabanas. Superb service. Buffet dining alternative good. You are served your mains and help yourself to starters and sweet. Not cheap, but nice. If you book an ordinary room I think you would be delighted, it's just the pool villas that disappointed us.
