"Nice apartments not exactly a hotel"
This is not exactly a hotel, there is no reception or restaurant. You effectively rent apartments and along as you know this, it is a decent place. (Tip; Make sure you call ahead to ensure someone is there to give you a key). The rooms are big, a bit outdated but clean. The staff are very good and make all the difference! The hotel is close to the beach (Agios Iouannis) and close to at least 5 very nice and varied restaurants. Chora is only a 10 min drive and Ornos is only a few minutes drive away.

"beautiful place"
it's a beautiful place but a little too expansive. The beach has lots of rocks and is not the best place for swiming.

Apollonia Hotel and Resort

"Nice, quiet and clean hotel. "
Apollonia Hotel and Resort is a nice, quiet and clean hotel, about 10 min. drive from Mykonos City. The rooms are sufficient and clean. However, I would not recommend the hotel for people with disabilities, especially disabilities walking since getting to the rooms requires stairs climbing. There are no elevators. The staff is friendly, but could be more attentative towards its guests. Example, you want something from the pool bar, you should go there and ask for it; you want a massage at the pool, you need to figure out that there is someone actually offering it (no sign, no information, no advertisement). The hotel management also does not post any information about island activities. They have information, but it's under their desk - you need to ask for it. But, we have been to Mykonos City in the evening, and unless you like loud noise, teens driving recklessly with 4-wheel dirt-bikes or scooters, you will like a more quiet atmosphere at the Apollonia. There is also a nearby (20m/23yds) market that at least allows you to buy minimal necessities such as drinks, toiletries or snacks. Also in walking distance are some other restaurants if you don't want to dine in the same hotel and don't want to drive to the city. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset within a 10-minute walk without having to drive to Mykonos City. Just -you guessed it- ask the hotel reception for direction. All in all, our stay was worthwhile, and we would consider staying at Apollonia again.

"Hotel and staff were great."
They provided us with free shuttle service upon arrival. Greeting was cordial and informative relative to local activities. We used both their beach facility a few hundred yards away and their onsite pool. Both were very nice. As an early riser I spent each morning near the pool reading. It was so quiet looking out over the smooth as glass sea. The hotel is located near the end of a dead end road which enhanced the quiet nature of the surroundings. The included breakfast was amazing for such a small hotel (18 rooms I think). We also had good dinner there one or two evenings and a very nice lunch at the restaurant associated with the beach. We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine one evening. I have saved the best for last. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I have travelled a lot but have never experienced a better staff. I would rate this hotel 5 star rather than 4 star.

"Great pool, great beach"
We enjoyed our first four nights on a Greek Island here and were glad we did. We were thankful we chose to be just outside the main town as it is very busy. It is only a short bus ride from town. It has a large lovely pool and is only a few minutes from the beach. The views from the balconies were magnificent. Staff was enormously helpful. The rooms are a little dated but, for the price, and for Mykonos it was good value.

"Perfect stay"
Everything was perfect, I cannot say any bad thing about it. The staff, how friendly and helpful they were, everything clean, eye on the detail, the bus ON TIME to go to the town. Nothing bad really. Also close to the hotel there is an outstanding beach, which is a bit hidden, but where not so many people go, and of course no umbrellas and bars, it is probably one of the bets on the island. I would recommend to go to this hotel for sure.

Pocket Guide: Mykonos Island Agios Ioannis Hotels

Best known as the location of the film “Shirley Valentine”, this peaceful resort lies on the southwest coast, five kilometres from Mikonos Town (connected by regular buses). It focuses on a bay with a fine sand beach, overlooked by four large luxury hotels plus several tavernas and cafes, with views across the sea to the small island of Delos, home to an impressive archaeological site filled with crumbling ancient sanctuaries and temples.
