We stayed at Gran Costa Adeje for a week and loved the hotel itself (breakfast, swimming pool area and the staff there) and would have love come again and again. However, I'm allergic to dust mites, which typically never bothers me unless there is a lot of dust in my nearest environment. Upon checkin into the room the AC vent was wide open and you could see that dust was hanging by large threads from it. Upon further inspection the vent was full of dust. Traveling with an infant and and having an allergy to dust mites, we reached out to reception to have the vent cleaned. Long story short, it took us two visits to reception and two phone calls over a period of 26 hours to have them show up. And when they did, they only cleaned the visible dust hanging from the outer rims of the vent and left everything inside. Which in turn meant that the allergy persisted for the duration of the stay and I couldn't wait for our stay to be over. It sucks booking a 5 star hotel for a week when a small thing like this can't be addressed properly. This was the case with reception for the duration of our stay. It always took more than one phone call to them. We had to make three phone calls for a pillow, two trips to the reception to get keys for the squash court (as they never brought it like they said they would). I hate writing a negative review about the place but until reception does a better job I unfortunately won't be staying there again. Didn't really feel like a 5 star experience.
