Parking is a bit of a hit and miss with limited spaces but hey can't complain.Great wee hotel.

I always use the Royal Hotel it is very easy walking distance from centre with load to do round an about enjoy view etc we had a great walk to the folly at top of the hill the staff are very help full and did all the could to make sure we were made comfortable and cared for all our needs

The staff were amazing and so warm and friendly didn’t get the young man’s name on reception but gave us a warm welcome in arrival. When we went for dinner the night we arrived staff again were warm and friendly Jamie was such a lovely polite man and nothing was a bother. The room itself was a superior room but we certainly wouldn’t class it as that very dated furniture , and our view was into a grubby looking alleyway tho the bed was very comfortable. Great location, great staff but the dated interior lets the hotel down

Hotel was in a very convenient location. Enjoyed the Scottish specialities at Breakfast. The 4th floor where I was, was kept much warmer than it should be. My radiator was off but the room was still quite hot at night.

Just some minor points
the room was tightfitting bathroom requires checking before quests arrive bathroom fitting all slack which i had to sort before I could shower staff very good

Unfortunately the floors were extremely squeaky. Uneven floors. 20 inch side on bathtub was quite difficult for older people to have a shower or bath. Possibly dangerous not having grab bars. Houdini would have trouble using the key to get in his room. Travellers be forewarned this is a hotel built in 1891.

This hotel has so much potential, but hardly a dime has been spent on upkeep in years. It was pretty pricy for the experience. The staff, however, were excellent.

I absolutely loved staying here! Built in 1895, this hotel has history and character. It's fun to imagine what it was like 100 years ago.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! The property is and older building. Our bathroom had a distinct smell. After trying many restaurants around the area that requires a reservation- we ended up eating at the hotel’s bar - and it was pretty good. Small bar that closed at 10 pm on Saturday night, would have been nice to have drinks at the bar instead of going out to another place. Again the staff was wonderful- the best!

Located in the center of the town. Limite parking is available. Very old outdated interior. We lived on the 6th floor and there was no water in the shower - noot enough pressure

Room was very small and property needs to be upgraded overall. Room temperature was far too warm, couldn't control it or cool it down. Overall it was a very mediocre place.

No one ever mentioned this property has scaffolding and construction. Blocked views of ocean, breakfast was a separate charge and parking is very limited. Excellent location. Definitely in need of a remodel, this is an old property. It does have an elevator, major plus.
