friendly knowledgeable staff. Good value for money The property in parts could do with a bit of TLC we were in the oldest part of the property quirky but dated.

Hotel rooms very absolutely shocking couldn’t even complain to the staff as reception wasn’t manned after 5pm absolute joke! Avoid! Woke up covered in bites and itching all over, room was depressing, cracked windows, damp and mouldy carpets, bile can’t believe it hasn’t been shut down!

The staff were exceptionally good, friendly, welcoming and professional. The property is clean and well looked after, however while it is in reasonable condition it needs a large number of window frames replacing due to clear indications of rot which will not be solved with paint. It is clear that some management processes are preventing the best operation.

Some problems with breakfast. Coffee was cold. Asked for fresh but that was cold as well. Scrambled egg had clearly been cooked some time previously - rubbery! Apart from that, all OK.

The most drab and dreary room, in need of a complete make over. The shower hose made it impossible to use without holding it. It either went straight to the wall or the curtain. No remote control for the television. Food for dinner quantity over quality.

We both loved the accommodation. It was convenient to get to, had ample parking and we were made welcome. slight down side was that the window in our room were not able to be opened and so the room got very stuffy at night in the heat. maybe fans would be a good idea.

The service was particularly good. Andrew served us at breakfast and couldn't have been more kind and helpful. The dogs too have given the hotel the 'paws up' and would like to thank Andrew for the left over sausage. Thank you too to James in the kitchen.

Very cold in the morning. No WIFi (not working).Rotten wood windows, even when closed you could see outside, this allowed in road and outside noise. No usb chargers.

Great place to stay. Everyone helpful. Lovely weather. Ideal for travel to Oxford our holiday target. Very busy sat night had to wait a while for our evening meal.

Unfortunately, not a great stay, had to wait to book in, Waited nearly a hour for food to be told order hadn't gone through, although not charged for inconvenience, very under staffed. Rooms very dated and could do with a refresh. generally ok for the price but think with a bit of effort could be a lot better.

We were in room 7 , it was very noisy because of been above the kitchen, the extractor fan was on all night, a droning sound could be heard. I would stay again but ask for a different room.

An interesting country inn near to Abingdon.
The staff were very friendly and helpful although it was clear they were short staffed. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was good value for money. The hotel could do with a lick of paint on the outside although the inside was better.

Could do better
Hotel was ok but there was a chronic lack of staff and the catering facilities were restricted due to the deep fat fryer going "bang". The duty manager on Friday was great and very accomodating, i think her name was Chloe. Again the staff that were in were very helpful. We pre booked breakfast but were unable to have it as the chef, Josh, refused to get out of bed. The duty manager on Sunday suggested "we give him a shout" ??? Room was tired and dated but comfortable and the evening meals were very good. I will be contacting Greene Kung to complain as no refund for the breakfast was offered due to the Chef's inability to get out of bed. This could have been so much better as the pub has lots of potential and i feel very sorry for the hard working staff but they are let down by the incompetent ones

Lovely place, we stayed in a family room which was clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant exceeded our expectations; the staff were attentive and knowledgable and the food was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

The amazing dog house

Got to the hotel to see a sign saying no food unless pre booked went too the bar only too find some of the tap beers not available So went to Oxford for the rest of the day had a great meal back to hotel at 2230 to get some sleep only to find the mattress had springs stick out When complained in the morning all we got was we will order a new one not even a sorry All in all not a good experience

Lovely country stay on the outskirts of Abingdon
Very welcoming staff & we were able to spend several hours relaxing over coffees, lunch & afternoon tea without feeling as we'd 'over-stayed'. Three of us had a triple rooom for the night. The room was clean but dated - in need of a refresh. The food was excellent. We'll definitely return in the future. Thanks
