"Comfortable base in the country"
Hotel was just what was wanted on a drizzly evening - it was warm, dry and had a reasonable selection of food and drink across the restaurant/tea-room & bar.

"nice but not good"
Room was spotless, staff were lovely however mattress was way too soft, was like sleeping on a waterbed, and shower had no power and went from freezing to boiling. I loved the views but the discomfort out weighted the positives. Sorry.

    Pocket Guide: Mid-Wales Aberystwyth Hotels

Home to one of the region’s largest universities, Aberystwyth is a vibrant Welsh town where accommodation is easily come by. From simple bed and breakfasts to locally run guesthouses and budget hotels, you needn’t pay the earth here to find clean, comfortable rooms with abundant hot water, friendly staff and excellent value for money.

Renowned for its cosmopolitan culture, rich local history and stunning situation on the Cambrian coast, Aberystwyth is considered one of the finest traditional seaside towns in Wales. With its two broad, sweeping bays around a headland, cliff railway and brightly painted cottages beneath a castle, visitors often come to Aberystwyth for the history but return because they’ve fallen in love with the atmosphere of this bohemian, creative place.

    An Artist's Paradise

For a town this size, there’s an abundance of artistic output here. One of the UK’s largest art centres, Aberystwyth Arts Centre is recognised as a “national flagship for the arts”, welcoming over 700,000 visitors a year. If theatre’s more your bag, Theatr Felinfach is one of only a small number of theatres devoted primarily to productions in the Welsh language. If you’ve got kids to entertain, Arad Goch, a Welsh and English speaking children’s theatre on Bath Street is the place to take them.

    A City of Festivals

From the Aberaeron fish festival, one of the highlights of the Welsh foodie calendar, to the International Ceramics festival and the world-famous classical MusicFest, Aberystwyth draws the crowds year round with its selection of exciting festivals and events. Those seeking thrills and chills will come for the Abertoir, an annual horror film festival screening new big-budget horror films, classic and independent films.

    A Beach for Every Taste

Between Cardigan Bay and the Llŷn in the north lies the Cambrian coast, an extraordinarily wild and unspoilt strip of magical beaches, sheer blue waves and interesting history. With mountains rising up behind it, this stretch is the place to come and explore wild Wales by foot or mountain bike. Enjoy picnics on sandy beaches, stop off at sleepy coastal fishing villages, or look out for birds at the beautiful Mawddach Estuary.

From Fish and Chips to Michelin Stars

True to its cosmopolitan reputation, Aberystwyth has a superb array of places to eat. From weekly farmers’ markets where you can buy the best in local bread, cheese and produce, to specialist delicatessens, wholefood cafes, and a range of world cuisine. There are both fish and chips and authentic pizzas on the seafront, as well as a famous honey-flavoured ice cream to sample. Whether it’s affordable student food you’re after, or Michelin-starred haute cuisine Aberystwyth has it all.

    Aberystwyth: the Quintessential Holiday Resort

With its stunning setting, fascinating Victorian history and youthful culture thanks to the university, Aberystwyth is one of the most popular towns in west Wales for a reason. Whatever the type of affordable or accommodation you’re looking for, this wonderful resort has you covered.
