Receptionist Fiona was first class, very friendly and helpful giving us great advice as where to eat and drink etc. The receptionist is usually a guests first point of contact with the hotel staff and I rate Fiona up amongst the best.

Pocket Guide: 4 Stars Hotels in Warwickshire

Looking for a little luxury in the heart of England? Warwickshire is full of premium quality four star hotels, offering visitors a slice of the good life. From elegant surroundings and delicious food to exquisite touches and spa treatments, four star hotels in Warwickshire welcome visitors all year round, and can be found in all of the most popular spots in the county.

Stratford-upon-Avon

Most famous for being the birthplace of the world's most influential literary figure, William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon is a delightful medieval market town with many well-preserved Tudor landmarks. Visit Shakespeare's 16th century Birthplace on Henley Street and learn about his childhood and the history of this iconic, half-timbered building, which is within easy reach of several four star hotels and a great selection of restaurants.

No visit to Stratford-upon-Avon would be complete without visiting the famed Royal Shakespeare Theatre, which organises world-class performances of Shakespeare's beloved plays. The town is home to a superb collection of deluxe four star hotels, from the majestic Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel in Clopton Bridge to the beautiful Tudor-themed Falcon Hotel on Chapel Street.

Charlecote Park

One of the most impressive country mansions in England, Charlecote Park, managed by the National Trust, is a magnificent 16th century landmark that overlooks a vast deer park and is rich in other wildlife. A Grade I-Listed building, this site has been owned by the Lucy family since the Middle Ages, and is renowned for its elaborate Great Hall with its barrel-vaulted ceiling. A short drive away is the splendid Ettington Park Hotel, which provides spacious, elegantly decorated rooms and a delicious free breakfast.

Warwick Castle

The perfect postcard image of medieval England, Warwick Castle is a masterpiece of Norman architecture: an iconic national monument that has been the home of numerous wealthy families over the centuries. It's just a short journey from the four star Hallmark Hotel The Welcombe Stratford upon Avon, which is housed in an outstanding historic house and provides free self-parking, free internet access, 24-hour room service and a luxury spa.

Ragley Hall

Another fine stately home, Ragley Hall dates back to the late 17th Century and features an interior that was partly designed by Neo-Classical architect James Wyatt in the late-Georgian period. It has a superb adventure playground, and has regularly hosted the Great British Food Festival. Very close to the hall is the luxurious Billesley Manor Hotel, which provides free parking, a fully equipped sauna and attractive rooms with free internet access.

Kenilworth Castle

Kenilworth Castle has stood for more than nine centuries and is noted for its majestic Great Hall. It has welcomed numerous kings and queens during its existence, and contains the well-preserved Leicester's Gatehouse, where you can learn about the royal romance between Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley. Near to the castle is the deluxe Honiley Court Hotel (a great choice for romantic getaways), offering a delicious free breakfast, free internet access, free parking and charming luxury rooms.

Royal Leamington Spa

The delightful Regency town of Royal Leamington Spa has many grand Georgian terraces and is overlooked by enormous All Saints Church. It is also revered for its Royal Pump Rooms, where you can learn about how this community evolved into an exclusive Spa centre by the early 19th Century, and is easily accessible from Warwickshire's four star hotels.
