"Nice hotel with good facilities, and great staff"
Clean hotel with good facilities and very helpful staff, sunbeds and brollies are plentiful. Nice bay views in quiet location, within easy access of nightlife catering for all tastes. Hotel provides access to 2 pools, plus 3+ more in adjoining sister hotel. 5+ hotels/bars across both hotels, along with spa type services.
Reasonable prices (similar to UK) for food and drink, both within and outside the hotel i.e. small beer, soft drink, coffee €2-3, pasta/pizza meal €10-12, steak €20-25. Breakfast range was wide, British and continental style, good quality, plenty of tables and quick service.
Our room (7536-5th floor-superior double) was tastefully decorated, plenty of space for 2, comfortable 'real' double bed, shower worked well, regularly stocked good quality toiletries, cleaned daily and towels replaced, lge TV, room safe, iron, hair dryer, expresso coffee and tea making facilities/supplies. Free
Wi-Fi had a good range throughout the hotel and pool areas. UK TV choice was mainly limited to news channels, as with most Euro hotels.
St George's bay is close to Valletta (20mins on the bus for €2) with all the history you would expect. The bay (st georges) has a small Sandy beach and a few small bars/restaurants, which lead to a busy and late night noise area with nightclubs, casinos, cinema, bowling and shopping complex. Pass through here and you can access the next bay (St Julian's) which is more traditional.
