"Great Hotel, Great Staff, Great Location!"
We spent three nights here at the end of our trip. The location was superb, just a few short blocks from the Vieux Port but away from the crowds, downhill walkable from the train station, two blocks from the bus going to the airport, backing up to the wonderful Musee d'Histoire de Marseille, and last but not least, very nice restaurants that we could walk to. We, of course, had read that some parts of Marseille were still a bit iffy, but this location let us feel comfortable with everywhere that we wanted to go. We chose the privilege room because the inclusion of breakfast and the larger size room for airplane packing made going slightly over budget very worthwhile. We arrived on an early train and the room wasn’t ready yet. The very helpful lady at the desk arranged for us to store our bags and gave us a key to the lobby restrooms. We walked down to the old port, getting our bearings, finding bus and metro stops and eventually lunch. Our room was bright and cheerful, neat as a pin, Wi-Fi worked perfectly. We had a refrigerator so we could have a chilled bottle of wine for a glass before dinner, an excellent rainfall shower, and a very good bed. I don’t know if our travels will take us back to Marseille, but if they do, this would be our hands-down choice.
