Perfect! We couldn't be happier! The receptionist were extremely helpful and friendly, lido has some great food there and everyone is friendly. Dowb the road from the water taxis into the heart of Venice and the hotel was stunning :)

"Safe, secluded & quiet, good location, few letdowns"
The room was not ready on time, even though we were 3 hours late for a checkin The good: - Pretty friendly staff - Free parking, wifi and breakfast(satisfactory) - Great location - 5 min walk from the vaporetto (water taxi). It takes about 20 minutes to get to San Marco square but if it a nice day, it is a very pleasant ride in the lagoon - I enjoyed this a lot. It is close to the main street on Lido with a few restaurants and shops and the beach, and yet tucked away in a nice street so it is quiet and quaint. - TV - flatscreen with a USB port The Bad: - The bed is not a double bed, it is 2 single beds pushed together - The fridge is small, does not work if you are not in the room and the cable is short - During the stay we had a birthday, but no happy birthday wish, a free drink or anything really which was really disappointing - The wifi is free but it is very weak on the third floor - The safe is very small, they actually give you a lock if you ask for it is just a small hole in the wall with a key so you are stuck carrying a key with you - The room is strange, it is a converted house, there are mosquitos and spiders around, shower is a bath with a strangely located place for the shower. Overall satisfied but think a 4 star hotel could do a bit better. Having said the good and the bad. My experience is that the hotels in Italy do have a slightly lower standard so this one I would recommend although they have some things to do to catch up to normal hotel standards.

"Excellent value for money, 1 st class service"
Planned a Venice city break along with a beach holiday over 6 days. Found the hotel relatively easily (directions could be a bit better) two minutes walk from the bus stop. Hotel located in a very quiet area with only the church bells disturbing the peace 07.30 am and 19.30 pm each day. Bus service excellent running the length of the Lido every 10 minutes or so. Hotel staff at all levels were friendly and helpful, rooms and en suite bathroom spotless. Breakfast was as one would expect with a choice of cereals, yogurts, cheese and ham with croissants and rolls, choice of fruit juices finished off with a choice of coffees, more than ample to get the day started. Service bus took 10 - 15 mins to get to S M Elizabeth (transfer port) and the water bus took 20 mins to get to St Marks Square. Journey from the airport to SME took 1 hour by water bus, it was more scenic and considerably cheaper than the speeding water taxis.Restaurants were considerable cheaper in SME compared to Venice but we ate well and prices compare favourably with the UK for food and beverages. All in all a good enjoyable experience, but you do need the weather for a beach break as there is not a lot to do once you have explored Venice.

"The hotel has great views out to sea"
I had booked a standard single, but was pleased to have a large double, with a comfortable bed, and plenty of hanging space / drawers. There was also a good desk to work at, a balcony, and two single French doors. both with electric, descending, shuttered metal blinds, inner gauze curtain, and a thicker curtain for night. Using the shuttered blinds allowed the room to be totally darkened, if that is one's preference at night, and also to leave the doors open for ventilation through the slots in the shutters, when fractionally raised, but the room secure from entry via the balcony. One also had an air-conditioning unit, and a programmable safe to lock valuables in (easy to use, and with one's choice of combination, via a key pad that beeped with each digit).

Pocket Guide: Venice Lido of Venice 4 stars Hotels

Venice’s beach neighbor, Lido is 20 minutes from San Marco by waterbus. By the late 19th century it was the smartest bathing resort in Italy. Today, the 18 kilometer-long sandbar is still popular with families enjoying the warm Adriatic beaches. The glitzy Venice Film Festival is held in Lido every August - September.
