The best part of the hotel is the garden/ courtyard setting which is very pleasant and the pool whilst it is tired and could do with a bit of maintenance gets the sun and is quite.
The staff were generally helpful and in particular Thom who was really going out of his way to help you enjoy your stay. The hotel style is very rustic so if you like everything pristine and immaculate this hotel may not be for you.
There are a few negatives. Main one is there is NO air conditioning despite what the website says. There was an air conditioning unit in our room and it did switch on with a very feint sound of air being moved but had no effect on chilling the room. After the first morning I had a look around and the air conditioning unit was not connected to external air and was not going to work!
The hotel itself is in a quite location and is fine when you are in the hotel but there is nothing close by in terms of bars restaurants. I do like to have a wander around and wherever I'm away always like to use the 'real' locals bars but there is nothing near this hotel that you would want to go to.
You rely on the taxis here and the hotel had real difficulty in getting taxis. It was the Euro's so maybe on normal weekends taxis are not such an issue.
The breakfast in the hotel was fine but no English breakfast available but a good continental breakfast. The main menu was very limited with only four main courses available and with young children or choosy eaters will be an issue
Hotel room was well-appointed and we liked the nespresso machine detail. Bathroom shower in bath didn't work so well. Glass shower wall didn't stop water spraying onto floor.
Little terrace over sea was a nice feature.
Resto menu limited selection.
English not well understood at reception.
The pre-authorisation off my credit card was not cancelled after cash settlement of bill. We had to call in to cancel it 3 days later.
