"Quiet and out of the way "
Big building, obviously big in the wedding market, with nice pool and health/spa facilities. We didn't have time to use the latter but what we could see looked good. Twin room very nicely decorated and appointed, beds very comfy. We ate in the Sports Bar (well, sat outside as it was warm) and we both enjoyed our meals. Really tasty steak and 'real chips' for me! Breakfast was buffet - some of the hot choices could have been hotter but it was OK. Some staff glazed over a bit when asked questions, either not understanding what I said or simply didn't know the answer. The 2 guys on Reception were more experienced and 'on message' however. Overall I thought it was a very pleasant hotel and I'd stay there again.

" Good location for exploring the area."
Lots to do in Southampton and surrounding area including the Southampton Old Town Walk, and the Mayflower Theatre. Good restaurants near the harbor, also good bars and restaurants near the theatre. It is an easy walk to both the train station and the cruise ship terminal.

"A bit passed its sell by date"
The room was very clean, spacious and had everything you would expect. The staff were very polite and attentive. However, the outside of the building is looking a little the worse for wear. It could do with some investment to fill the multitude of visible cracks in the outside of the building, especially at the back, and give it a lick of paint. The garden walls/steps and concrete features in the garden are in a bad state of repair and could do with replacing/repairing as it makes it look as though the hotel just wants your money and not willing to invest. Overall, it didn't spoil our stay.

"Reasonable price, would only stay the one night"
The room was small but clean. The bathroom could do with some updating, and although it was clean it looked grubby due to the tired grout, shower head and bath. The shower hose was burst and as a result there was more water shooting from that than the shower head ! However too the hotels credit they said if it couldn't be fixed they would give us a new room. The room was very stuffy at night and they only provide one very soft pillow, however we had just finished a 15 hour drive so we weren't too bothered! Breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Fantastic choice and everything tasted fresh and well cooked. Very reasonable at £10 especially since you can go back as often as you like. Great hotel and price (much cheaper than travel lodge) but I would only stay for the night.

Lovely convenient hotel for the New Forest and Coast. Clean rooms with decor to match the style of the Hotel. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, including croissants, fruit and cereal along with full English. Didn't book dinner but I am sure this would be of a good standard.
