"Nice hotel but far from anything"
We loved the hotel. The room and location are everything that was touted on the website. The only challenge is the distance from anything else. Locked in to their restaurant and although the food is good it gets old eating at the same place. Hotel is inflexible about water taxi time unless you pay $70 U.S. per person per trip.

"Great Small Resort"
We thought this was a great little resort. It's not a large resort yet it has a very nice restaurant, extremely comfortable and nice rooms and very accommodating staff. Each room has a small kitchen however there is no shortage of great food on the island. We rented golf cart to run back and forth to town and restaurants.

"wonderful trip!"
We had a great time and enjoyed the staff and especially the food - great selection and always delicious. The beds are fantastic. We stayed on the ocean side and would recommend that over lagoon, although both looked nice. We were first put in a ground floor room by the pool and felt a bit like we were in a fish bowl. If with a big group I think this would be nice, but we preferred being on the second floor and would book in the 3rd next time. It's fairly small which was nice and comfortable. It's a 1/2 hr. drive to Placencia which is where many tours and things went from, they do have a shuttle that goes in a few times a day but just be aware that you are a bit removed from the local happenings.

"Very quiet. Awesome scenery. "
The road to the Inn is very bad. If driving in yourself, you need to have the appropriate vehicle. Make sure the rental company allows your vehicle to go off of paved roads. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The main building at the resort is a house that was converted and the rooms are free standing duplexes a short walk from the main building. When we arrived, we were greeted outside and given a short orientation on the resort and surrounding property. The rooms are nice. There is a phone and fireplace, but no TV or air conditioner. A ceiling fan makes sleep comfortable. The staff kept our room spotless. They also have a fireplace in each room with a stockpile of wood/kindling. This was a nice amenity as it got slightly chilly at night. There is a pool, screen porch, small lounge with reading material, bar, and dining area. 7200 acres of land to explore on foot or by vehicle. Butterfly Falls is amazing and worth the hike. You can swim in the pool at the bottom, but the water is spring fed so it’s a bit cold. You need to be in moderately good shape to go on the hikes. There are walking sticks at the entrances to most trails. I would recommend taking them as they help with all of the rocks/steps you need to navigate. The Cascade Trail is also highly recommended. It follows the river and has numerous primitive bridges across the water. Dining was very good. The chef knows what he is doing. Continental breakfast is othing special: yogurt, cereal, juice, a few piece

"A very nice hotel with good staff"
The place is great EXCEPT for the sand flies. Tiny insects which have a vicious bite. Great hotel with great staff and the pier is amazing.

"The best resort on Ambergris Caye"
Matachica was everything it was supposed to be. Great facility and grounds. Extremely friendly and courteous staff who went out of their way to make everything as hassle free as possible. Can't say enough good things about it. We'll definitely be going back there.

"How the Other Half Lives!"
It is always special when you want to spend time at a location that lives up to the photos you see online. Actually, the photos don't do justice to the luxurious accommodations and Belizean Cove Estates. Expect to be treated like a celebrity from the staff to the vendors you encounter once they hear you are staying at the Belizean Cove. It is the most luxurious place on the island and you are treated as such. Every need is taken care of by the staff 24/7. Tours, golf carts, deep sea fishing, etc... are but a phone call away. However, if you just want peace and quiet and lounge in luxury you can do that too.
