We needed to stay overnight in Haslemere and chose Georgian House Hotel and Spa, based on the reviews we read and the fact they have a spa with a sauna. We were not disappointed as the sauna was excellent, and the pool big enough to have a swim in. The staff we dealt with were all nice and polite, and our room was comfortable. There is a nice garden which I'm sure in warmer times would be really nice to spend some time in. The only real negative was the lack of sound insulation in the room. You could hear everything going around you, and I regretted not having any earplugs with me. It was also a pity that the restaurant was deserted. It looked very nice but totally lacked atmosphere as there were no diners. Because of that we chose to dine elsewhere.

The Checking in was quick enough; The room was not that warm to begin with as the heating system was not working in that room and it took a while for the heating to be repaired. I suspect that there were two wedding celebrations going on and they were fully occupied with it and hence the delay in repairing it.

This was our 3rd visit to the Hogs Back Hotel - very close to the venue we occasionally visit. Having visited this hotel before we found that the overall quality of the cleaning had gone slightly downhill - little signs that the place could do with a refurb. Rather grotty bathroom - grubby in places, the shower, the taps - pretty much everything could do with a complete update. We got the room at a discount price £79 for a twin room ,no breakfast - wouldn't ever pay the full asking price for this hotel again unless it was radically updated. Our particular room was a bit noisy but that was just the guests on that particular night!
We stayed one night so my daughter could go for an interview in Farnham, the room was comfortable and ideal for our stay. Complimentary whiskey, single malt available and we had sloe gin in our room. Nice thought although we didn't avail ourselves. Breakfast menu was varied and very appealing. Catered for my gluten free diet. Negative, shower tray filled with water to the point that I thought it would overflow, it went down very slowly but didn't detract from the stay.
We just spent one of the most memorable nights at Guy's fantastic cottage in the Surrey Hills. Although, a little earlier than expected, we were welcomed in with a nice cup of tea and shown to a very nice second story bedroom. (Mind your head on the beams!) After a supper out in nearby Godalming, we were going to retire for the night, but were lured into Guy's living room by the huge, ancient fireplace, and Wellington, the four-legged family member! We spent over an hour just chatting with Guy like old friends over wine and Scotch, before retiring to the most comfortable bed we'd slept in for a long time. In the morning, we woke to the smell of freshly baked bread and enjoyed a boiled egg courtesy of his neighbor, being forced to forego the full English breakfast due to time constraints.
For those who like post and beam cottages, this one must rank up there with the best! From the kitchen with Arga, through the living room with Inglenook fireplace, to the uneven floors upstairs, this cottage has charm to spare. Unfortunately, we were only spending the one night there in the worst of English weather and were unable to get any decent photos. Fortunately, though, that same weather highlighted the qualities of the cottage, which seemed to wrap us up cozily in the warmth of old memories.
Really nice hotel. Lovely town with loads of great shopping and pubs, especially the sensational real ale star pub in church street! Excellent Italian next to the hotel, and I really mean excellent!! Great evening..lovely breakfast..had a joke toilet cistern that made some very odd groaning noises..no complaints at all..sensational!
