Comfortable stay on family vacation. Hotel is very close to main city centre, shopping, eating places. Good staff, amenities. The only difficulty may be for seniors to climb a short flight of stairs with luggage. But reception staff is very helpful. Seek help if needed.

Whether you’d prefer to stay in a recognisable international brand hotel, a classic alpine retreat or a chic three-star contemporary apartment, Valais offers an impressive range of three-star accommodation to choose from. You’ll be able to take your pick from three-star hotels in top Valais resorts across the region, so you can be right on the spot for enjoying resort life on and off the slopes.
Valais is blessed with some of the most spectacular natural scenery in all of Europe. Awe-inspiring sky-skimming mountains coupled with fertile, sun-drenched valleys dotted with villages and vineyards make Valais a visitors’ paradise whatever time of year you stay. Many discerning holidaymakers and adrenalin-seekers choose three-star accommodation in Zermatt at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn mountain. If you’re travelling with children, the sunny resort of Graechen is packed with attractions for the little ones. Book a room in the Saas Valley and you’ll have miles of stunning hiking trails leading right from your doorstep.
The opportunities to indulge in all sorts of snow sports in Valais are exceptional, but you don’t have to be sliding down the slopes to get the best views. Hop on the slowest train in the world, the Glacier Express, to Gornergrat observatory and its mountain-top restaurant, or take the Rothorn gondola or funicular and enjoy the feeling of being on top of the world.
When visiting Valais, there is a host of regional traditions you’ll want to experience. Switzerland is known for its love of spas and saunas, and there’s nowhere in Europe more dedicated to the joys of thermal baths than Leukerbad. For food lovers, Valais is also home to the delicious melted cheese delicacy raclette, so it’s a great place to indulge your cheese addiction. Perhaps less well known is Valais’s long and successful wine-making tradition, made possible by the positively Mediterranean microclimate and 300 days of sun a year. To start your exploration of the Rhone valley’s vineyards, why not book to stay in Sion or Sierre?
