"Truly felt at home!"
We stayed in a suite room with a street view during the Barcelona leg of our honeymoon. We also spent time at an Air BnB apartment in Seville and at the Westin Plaza Hotel in Madrid and the Margot House was our favorite stay of the whole trip! The cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom, was one of the main reasons. This was the only place we felt comfortable enough to use the bathtub. The location was perfect, right across the street from Casa Batllo, one of the top 5 attractions in Barcelona. There is a taxi queue and metro station to the right of the building. If you prefer to walk, Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell are to the right while a number of attractions are to the left - Gothic Quarter, Palau Guell, Placa Reial, etc. Despite it's location, the Margot House was a quiet and relaxing hotel. There was no telephone in the room but the receptionist helped us make reservations which was better since we don't speak Spanish well enough to do so. No coffee maker in the room but not a problem since we had access to the kitchen and the espresso machine 24/7. Snacks were provided throughout the day which included pastries, nuts, breads, cereals, tea, and milk. Laundry services were provided at a very low cost compared to big hotels (e.g., 2.50 vs. 13.50 for a pair of jeans). Breakfast buffet included fruits, pastry, cheese, cured meats, cereal, yoghurt, and eggs made to order. The staff is the best part - very friendly and helpful especially the chambermaids.
