"Nice hotel. Close to family. Pretty lobby."
Breakfast was adequate. (Fried eggs were a bit overcooked.) However, they would cook to order a breakfast that was not on the buffet and were pleasant when asked.

"Nice hotel in good location"
The hotel is in an amazing location, steps from Galway Ceannt Rail Station and several pubs. With the location however comes a bit of noise as several of the pubs do play live music, however it was not enough to disrupt our sleep or evening.

"City center "
It wouldn't really consider it a hotel. It was like more of an air b&b. But it was really great so much room. Basically in city center. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

"Great location, nicer hotel than I thought"
This hotel is right in the main area, within walking distance of almost everything. It looked unappealing from the front, and it is located around the corner from the train station so I was very concerned - no need! We heard NOTHING except the call of seagulls when the fishermen left docks in the morning- also a block away. The room and hotel are very clean, well decorated and nice. Hot water and clean American style bathroom. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. Two minor complaints- my bed needed a new mattress, it was lumpy. And we happened to be there on the by hottest day of the summer and there is no air conditioning. The other nights were not bad, since the weather is usually cool at night. I would return there.

"Great location- Erratic food"
So close to the Harbour- we had several full days out and could easily walk back to the hotel. Easy walk from the bus station as well! Nice and clean and very helpful staff! The restaurant was either very good or not great. The service was so-so because they appeared very busy. The soup was outstanding on Day 1, but when go it again on Day 2, it was not as good. Same with the tea and sausages. The decor is a bit odd- it feels a bit gothic and Halloweeny- standing candelabras with flickering (real!) candles, web-like door handles and lots of purple velvet. Rooms were very clean and the directions for how to adjust the water flow were very helpful.

Quite far from town but a nice hotel. Service in dining room was slow. Had to get up to ask where I could get coffee. Then, where to get toast etc. Not prompt service. Upon arrival, was given a room that was very noisy. When I asked if there were other rooms available they moved us to a quieter area of the hotel and gave us a larger room.

    Galway’s historic hotels

If you enjoy traditional Irish music, there can be few better places to stay than Galway. The pubs are filled with fiddlers and bodhran drummers who find a very welcoming home in Galway, where traditional Irish music is highly valued and seen as part of the city’s lifeblood. It’s not all about songs and jigs though – Galway’s impressive medieval church, the city walls and landmarks date all the way back to the “Tribes” – the 14 merchant families who once ruled the town. With cobbled streets, brightly painted buildings and the relaxing River Corrib, Galway has a stimulating atmosphere that visitors come back for time and again.

    Galway Arts and Festivals

“The City of Festivals” certainly lives up to its name with some of Ireland’s biggest get-togethers happening here. Every summer, the Galway International Arts Festival floods the streets with performers for two weeks, and it’s the biggest of its kind in Ireland. The culture munch continues in the autumn, with the Galway Theatre Festival in October. There’s lots to see and do at other times of the year too, and chances to catch up with top Irish acting and performing talent. Galway has five major theatres, and most hotels will have great advice about what’s hot and what’s not.

    Around Galway

The culture of ancient Ireland is never far away in Galway, dolmens and Neolithic standing stones dotted around the lush green landscape. For those interested in more recent history, Galway is also the location for several castles dating back to the Norman invaders.

Galway’s love affair with food goes on, and you’ll find some of Ireland’s best restaurants in the city. Galwegians are at the crest of Ireland’s organic food movement, and there are also many international restaurants to try. For a wee drop of the black stuff, many pubs have traditional pints of stout, as well as some intriguing craft beers.
