Great hotel with super friendly staff. Room was spacious with great amenities and decent breakfast included. Only concern was location - I didn't realise when I booked that it was near the Tenderloin area which I was advised isn't very nice, but as I was informed of this it wasn't an issue because I just made sure I took transport everywhere. The hotel offers shuttle services to all the main tourist locations as well as the airport so you really have nothing to be concerned about. All in all I had a great stay, my only wish is that I could've stayed longer as I only had one night so didn't really get to experience all the great things on offer.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Queen Anne during spring break and we absolutely loved it! I chose the Queen Anne because I wanted to stay somewhere with a good location and lots of character. If you're looking for a sleek, modern hotel...this isn't it. The Queen Anne has tons of charm and it's like stepping back in time. This hotel is perfectly located a few blocks away from Fillmore St., which has several wonderful places to eat, and Van Ness, which can get you almost anywhere in the city via bus. We chose to use the airport shuttle to get here, but you can save money by taking the BART and and bus system. The hotel offers sherry wine and warm cookies every evening, and coffee/tea is always available downstairs. The breakfast was nice and convenient (sausage, waffles, toast, muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal, etc) and the hotel also offers a complimentary car service in the morning that will take you to most places within the city. The beds are comfy, the rooms were small but adequate and most of the time, quiet. The staff at the hotel is wonderful, and always greeted us and offered to help us with finding transportation or making dinner plans. We have recommended this hotel to several of our friends and family!
Great location near Japantown. There's on-street parking after 6pm (daytime limit is 2hrs unless you're a resident) if you don't want to use the hotel's valet garage parking.
Interior is old style Victorian (raised bed, claw foot tub) so it's great for a romantic getaway. Doesn't feel as modern as the newer hotels because it really is Victorian. I happen to love that era, so it was pretty cool to stay in.
The hotel has a very nice historical ambience and helpful staff. The location is great, but with no air conditioning and a teeny crack of a window to open, it would be very uncomfortable on a warm or hot day.
The first room I was given was small and not clean. I requested another room with two single beds. I was given one that was already occupied..luckily no one was home. It also had a mildew odor. The third time was the charm two double beds, comfortable. Clean spacious room with a long desk. Good view fridge present..nice bathroom with wonderful shower head So for what it is worth request room 1416
I had to wait to check-in...along with others. They need better customer service. Once I got to my room, I loved it...modern and renovated. Loved everything except heater wasn't working which was ridiculous...if the heater was working it would have been a perfect room for me. A little noisy since it is right on the corner of Van Ness and Bush but that is San Francisco! I would definitely stay again!
