Good location, good staff, and good room, giving the visitors "rich" experiences both physically and mentally.
One thing to consider; when going to the hotel from Union Square area, we have to go across a very dangerous area. Do use taxi or something safe, don't walk.
One thing to add; Japan town is near, within 5 minutes' walk. So recommend to those who want to see/eat Japanese things, especially to Japanese who live in the U.S and miss Japanese things.
"Convenient location, great staff, needs updating"
Formerly the Tomo hotel (with Japanese anime theme), this is now more adult and more modern. Still conveniently located in Japantown. Staff helpful and friendly. Hallways definitely need updating and dark. Room itself was fine, but probably could also use updating. Parking is a bit of a pain, since garage is small and always full, so you have to park in the Japan Center Garage a block away (though price is very reasonable for overnight).
This is like staying at your friends grandmas house everything was nice is just old from the claw foot tubs to grandmas bed its A little weird reminds me of something in New York or A little weird reminds me of something in New York Or Amsterdam A throwback would be a nice thing to say but the location is great
Chose this hotel for a one night stay because we were attending a musical event at the Herbst Theater one block away and a good French restaurant was two blocks away. Gave our car to the hotel valet and walked to each place. Location, location, location.
"Nice hotel, great views, in good area of the city"
Stayed there while visiting my daughter who lives in the city. Great location. My room was clean, comfortable and had great views. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. it was a bit noisy and crowded but my stay was during Super Bowl week so that was to be expected.
Overall I had a pleasant stay at the Cova Hotel. I stay there all week for the Super Bowl festivities. It was in the perfect location for what we wanted to experience in SF. The location of the Hotel itself isn't in the nicest areas but I still had no issues walking all around to our destinations. The hotel standards are Mich higher than the neighbor it sits in. I'd stay there again.
