Lovely B&B next to Lacock. Nice location, friendly and helpful owners. The room was fresh and clean, and the breakfast was plentiful and top notch, with eggs straight from their own chickens, certainly free range.
Conveniently situated by train station and 5 mins from shops in town centre.. The room was clean and tidy and the kitchen and bathroom were better than mine at home! Great little guest property and well worth the money
Access, through a very narrow lane between shops, was not east to find. Breakfast was not available but other food was good. Staff and locals were very friendly and helpful. Heating was very efficient and although obviously on timer the room remained lovely and warm. Could do with a more efficient ...
Comfortable and affordable stay! Anton and his wife were delightful hosts and made everyone feel welcome. Location was perfect and a lovely town to walk about as well. In room coffee/tea, television and a quiet sleep made for a good couple of days.

The beautiful and tranquil countryside makes an ideal environment for a leisurely walking holiday. Elsewhere, the bustling market towns are packed with exciting attractions for all the family. Wiltshire is an almost exclusively rural county, with only a handful of large towns and just the one city. As such, there's plenty of open countryside to be explored on foot. The North Wessex Downs are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which are particularly popular with ramblers. The rural parts of the county are punctuated with fascinating prehistoric landmarks, which add an element of intrigue to the already impressive landscapes.
Avebury Life B&B is an ideal spot for walkers keen to check out some of Wiltshire's prehistoric attractions. There are a number of unusual and fascinating things to see at Avebury, including an elaborate and mysterious stone circle. This charming and friendly B&B is just one mile from the stone circle, and Silbury Hill isn't much further. Stonehenge can be reached by car or via local public transport.
Most visitors to Wiltshire come in search of peace, quiet and country walks, but that's not all there is to this south-western county. Unsurprisingly, it's the county's only city - Salisbury - that offers the best nightlife, although there's also a generous helping of bars in Swindon, which is also home to plenty of affordable two star hotels.
The White Hart offers traditional accommodation in Swindon, with a complimentary breakfast to sweeten the deal. The Campanile Swindon offers another affordable option, just outside the town centre.
It's not only the nightlife that draws tourists into the medieval city of Salisbury. There's also plenty to see and do. Salisbury Cathedral is undoubtedly the main event, but visitors should also look out for the Salisbury Museum, Old Sarum and, of course, Stonehenge.
Sarum Cottage offers some delightful two star accommodation near the centre of Salisbury. The gorgeous period property features a library, lift and free WiFi - great for planning each day's itinerary before you leave the hotel.
Two star hotels in Wiltshire may offer astonishing value for money, but that doesn't mean they need to be basic. Many of the county's two star offerings actually offer something pretty special. The Shaw Country Hotel is a pretty property surrounded by picturesque gardens. Despite the intimate accommodation, which comprises a modest 13 rooms, the hotel boasts an impressively large conference space, as well as a private meeting room.
Damson Cottage B&B is a magnificent building located in Reybridge, a short way outside of Chippenham. The B&B offers a free breakfast, fast internet and free parking. This makes it an ideal choice for visitors who have their own vehicle. From this pretty, rural location, there's plenty of opportunity to get out and explore the rest of this spectacular county.
