"Fine for one night"
When we were looking at this hotel's reviews, many guests said it was fine for one night. They're right. It's a decent hotel which is very close to the airport. As we were scheduled to land after 10pm, we just wanted someplace clean to rest our heads for the night. There are several spots within easy walking distance (4 blocks) to get some food or sundry items if you need them and don't have a car. They have an airport shuttle but it stops running, I think at 8 or 9 at night. However, since the hotel is so close, the cab fare is very inexpensive. There is beach access, but it' very small and filled with litter. You will not want to swim or lay out there. Staff was fine and the room was clean and comfortable but I wouldn't want to be there for more than one night.

Was a very good experience. The hotel is maybe a bit dated but it is well maintained, grounds are beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. Because we had a late flight the day we left they allowed a late checkout and even provided a room to freshen up before our flight left. There is also a very good restaurant at the hotel.

"Quaint little place right in the heart of Lahaina"
We stayed for one night after our flight before moving to our timeshare property. We chose the property for the great price and the great location. It is the perfect spot for exploring Lahaina. It's right in the middle of town with lots of restaurant selections adjacent and it's within a block or so of the activity starting points. This is definitely a vintage hotel so if you're looking for modern accommodations with all the amenities this will not fit the bill. There are stairs to navigate and I didn't see an elevator and the parking is in a lot off the property. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean and they have great lanais for watching the activities. The woman at the front desk could not have been nicer and more helpful.

"A little disappointing."
Everything was ok, but nothing special. The staff was helpful but since these are condo's owned by individuals, I had to deal with an outside company that I booked through not the local staff. It had a kitchen you could cook if you wanted with a full size fridge which I really liked. So tired of bending over to reach into fridge to grab a drink. Bathroom was small but everything a person needs. Very low water pressure for the shower. There was a grassy area at the ocean to lay in the sun if you wanted and a smaller size pool to swim in.

Pocket Guide: 2 stars Hotels in Maui Island

    Maui Island’s 2 Star Hotels

Dotted around the whole island, two-star hotels are quite common on Maui Island, despite the destination’s reputation as a luxury holiday destination. From beach resorts to golf hotels, Maui Island’s two-star accommodation offers a diverse choice for all types of guests. You’ll find a variety of hotels, inns, and resorts all providing budget travellers with a comfortable, affordable place to stay.

What to Expect from Maui’s 2 Star Hotels

You can enjoy many convenient facilities in your two-star hotel, including concierge services and parking. But it’s the two-star hotels’ landscaped gardens and outdoor pools that are most appealing, inviting you to make the most of the Hawaiian weather. After a day of hiking in West Maui Forest Reserve, you can sink into the pool then grab a drink and bite to eat in onsite bars and restaurants.

Air-conditioned rooms are decorated in a Polynesian style and come with plenty of in-room entertainment, including cable TV, MP3 docks and free WiFi. A number of rooms have balconies or lanais, and some hotels offer condos with full kitchens.

    Maui Island: Best Areas

To really get away from it all, pick a two-star hotel in largely undeveloped Hana, which still has much of its natural tropical beauty. The most eastern point on Maui Island, Hana is far more peaceful than the bustling western side. Hana Cultural Center and Museum displays many historical artefacts and old photographs of the area’s landmarks.

On the western side of Maui Island, you’ll find several popular small tourist towns and villages. For a step back in time, walk around Lahaina. Many of the town’s original 19th-century buildings are now bars and restaurants. Down the coast in southern Maui, golf courses and cattle ranches surround the small town of Kihei. Its beaches are also popular spots for surfing and beach volleyball.

    Hiking on Maui Island

On Maui Island’s northern shore, the hike to Twin Falls is gentle enough for families with young children. You could arrange a guided tour to the waterfalls, but it is easy to navigate alone. Before setting off, grab a bite from the traditional Maui snack kiosk at the beginning of the trail.
