"A great B&B for any Weymouth visit !!"
This is the best B&B I have stayed in. The location must be the best of any in Weymouth overlooking the beach and at the heart of the action. It has a great living room with great coffee on supply included in your room rate. The wifi works well throughout and the breakfast is top class and cooked to order. All staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning here on next trip to Weymouth..

"Great hotel"
I wanted to be close to the station, and a view of the sea was a bonus. I got upgraded to a double, and had a balcony. It was to cold for the balcony, but I had a great view and the room was very roomy. The owners were very helpful, and I had a lovely rbeakfast.

"ok hotel"
Hotel is ok and people try their best. Dinner was however overpriced and awful. Breakfast was ok, variety of food and plenty. Staff tried their best. I would go there again but would never stay for the dinner.

"Cheap and cheerful "
The cumberland is perfectly located if you want or need to be close to local emmenities etc. The staff are lovely, so welcoming and helpful. There are free parking bays outside of the hotel on the beach front or a pay and display directly behind that the hotel can give you a ticket to park there all day for £4 which was really helpful. We stayed on the top floor and were slightly taken aback by the size.. it was a lot smaller than photographed and the ceilings were very low. If I was to be really picky I would say that the decor and furniture could do with some updating, but considering the price I paid I was really pleased. Breakfast was a lovely home cooked full English with toast, lots and cereals and juices, and to my delight, a huge selection of flavoured teas! I was gutted that we had to hit the road home early and missed breakfast on our last day. If I had to pick something that really stuck out to me it would be the 'balcony' outside our room.. it was literally just the roof with no room to walk anywhere, it felt really unsafe. The floor below us had proper balconys with table and chairs, so it wouldn't go a miss to match the top balcony to the ones below, it's such a lovely view but just not the same looking through a window. If you need somewhere to pit stop this is definitely the place, but if you're planning on spending a lot of time in your room I would avoid. Overall a pleasant stay, was what I paid for :)

"One Night Stay"
This is a lovely guest house sandwiched between the sea at the front and the river at the back. Our room looked over the river right onto an old fashioned sailing galleon, The Pelican, which was beautiful and interesting. When we went down to breakfast we sat in the bay window at the front looking over Weymouth bay. Breakfast was excellent. What a beautiful place to stay. Karen, the landlady, was very friendly and welcoming. She provided a Parking Permit which enabled us to park in the nearby streets at no charge - which was an added bonus. We would certainly stay here again if in the area.

"BIRTHDAY TREAT."
Had a lovely four day/three night stay at the Ilminster Arms. It was my Wife's birthday and knew I couldn't go far wrong by securing a booking with them. We have stayed there before and enjoyed it immensly and so we were happy to be returning and they didn't let us down. We had a warm welcome on arrival, stayed in a lovely spotlessly clean room, a fantastic breakfast is served at a leisurely pace (not rushed at all unlike a lot of hotels), the staff are very friendly, helpful and make you feel at home and to cap it all off they have a pretty garden with the most incredable view that is just breathtaking.

"Nice stay, thank you."
Stayed here for one night 15/10/16, booked at very short notice as found ourselves in a nightmare hotel on Weymouth prom and needed to find alternative accommodation in an emergency! Check in was quick and easy, staff friendly and room was clean and comfortable. Good facilities in room and breakfast the following morning was excellent. Overall, a lovely stay in a comfy quiet room. Shame we couldn't sample the meals in the bar in the evening as we had a prior engagement already organised. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend. We had the room with the spa bath in the room, this did seem odd, but booking last minute there isn't much choice around. However, I was very pleasantly surprised by the bath itself. I had never used one and thought it would send out cold air bubbles, but in fact it got warmer and was a welcome treat for my aching back and neck from the previous nights sleep on a horrible bed at the other hotel. Also, I was worried there would end up being a lot of steam in the bedroom, but it wasn't an issue at all even though it was a chilly afternoon. Over all, would advise people not to be put off at all by it, and I would book the same room again if/when we visit our friends in Weymouth again in the future. Thanks for a great stay.

    Pocket Guide: Portesham Weymouth Hotels

You'll find Weymouth 15 minutes south of Dorchester and just a short drive from the A35. Well served by rail links it's an easy town to get to, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Locally known as 'The Gateway to the Jurassic Coast' Weymouth typically receives less than half the average rainfall of the rest of the country and is peppered with attractions and things to see and do. There's plenty of accommodation in and around the town, ranging from warm and comfortable B&Bs and guesthouses, to sleek, contemporary hotels and impressive manor houses.

A Family Favourite: Hotels in Weymouth

There's plenty for families to see and do, making Weymouth a firm favourite for those travelling with children. The Sea Life Centre Adventure Park and Tower is sure to excite and fascinate younger visitors from toddlers to teens, with over 1000 extraordinary sea creatures, thrilling rides and an underwater tunnel. If you're visiting in the heat of summer, Weymouth Beach offers everything from amusement arcades to white-knuckle water sports. Most Weymouth hotels are within easy access of local landmarks; the Wilton Guest House and the Weymouth Beach B&B are both a short stroll from the town's golden sands, making access that much more convenient.

    Retail Therapy in Dorset

Hitting the shops is a fun part of any holiday and Weymouth has plenty to offer bargain hunters. There are two main shopping streets and two main shopping centres, offering everything from independent and boutique stores to upmarket, high-end shops. Booking a hotel close to the shopping areas, such as the Boaters Guesthouse, means that you can engage in some serious retail therapy without having to travel far to put your feet up and check-out your new purchases.
