"Week Long Stay"
I stayed at Howard Johnson's because I needed to go economy, and for a whole week. I read some of the reviews, and had reservations. The price was good, and the location (close to University of Maryland) was what I was after. When I arrived, like some other reviewers, I did find the initial appearance to be a little seedy, close to a busy street, and I passed a security guard on the way in. Once I got to my room, I was in for a pleasant surprise. Except for the smell of cigarette smoke that was in the room. I know that management can only do their best at those who insist on smoking in non-smoking rooms, and over the course of my visit, the smell greatly subsided. Anyway, the room was like the rest of the building, a little old, but it was super-clean. The bathroom was super clean, I had a nice refrigerator, and nice place for my clothes, plenty of space, and curtains that blocked out the light. And from inside the room, I couldn't even tell there was a street outside. After a long travel, a hot shower with a cool showerhead and fresh, clean, thick towels made me feel like myself again. The breakfast wasn't the greatest, then again, I didn't expect it, and I've had worse at hotels promising more. Overall, I had a nice stay, with quiet, peace, rest, space, and clean quarters. Thank you!
