Reservation made for double occupancy with two queen beds and smoking. When arrived that was not available. Tried tgo substituted with one king bed and a cot. Eventuality acceded to two separate rooms. Frustrating and the hotel staff blamed it on Expedia.
Was only in DC for the weekend to see a Cirque du Soleil show. Hotel was in easy walking distance to the Metro, the Cirque venue and Tyson's Corner mall. Probably wouldn't be my first choice if I were doing more in the district itself (bit of a Metro ride on three lines, with an extra transfer required because of weekend Metro maintenance), but for what I was there for it was fine. Hotel room itself was clean and comfortable, and easily accessible by Metro to DCA and various points. Not being able to do early checkin was a bit annoying, but I was able to check in by the 3:00 quoted deadline and really, that's all you can reasonably ask.
Receptionist offered 40 $ room upgrade, I accepted, but cancelled my free breakfast?
Eggs offered at breakfast buffet; yellow turned to green, they charge for hot meal!
When checking out, I complained for all of these; with his poker face, for each problem, he answered; "I will report".
I never seen such staff, when checking in and out.
Contrary, facilities were better then my expectation.
Maybe not everybody would consider this walking distance to the Tysons Corner mall, for instance -- but I'm happy to walk a mile rather than driving or taking a cab, and I was glad that I could walk from the Greensboro Metro and get to businesses in the area. The suite with kitchenette, table/desk and couch was very comfortable for relaxing or getting some work done.
What you would expect from this hotel brand. Staff was courteous and helpful. Room was dated, bed was just adequate, but overall a good solution for this stay. Best attributes were great price and easy walk to a Metro station. Would stay again.
Tysons Corner is all business when it comes to shopping. This area features more than 400 retailers in two shopping centers: the Tysons Corner Center and the Tysons Galleria. Already one of the nation’s largest business districts, Tysons Corner is poised to grow as more office buildings, retail space, and homes will be built over the next decade.
