"Lovely hotel very close to the beach"
We really liked this hotel especially as it was so close to the beach. The room itself was very spacious and clean and towels were changed 3 times when we were there. The only disappointment for us was that there was no balcony, but that could have been our own fault as we asked for a room with a seaview. If we were to go back I would like a room with a balcony. I can't comment on the pool or the pool area as I am a beach person and as we were so close to the beach I went there everyday. Staff in the hotel and the bar were all very friendly and helpful and everything was very reasonably priced. We would stay here again

"Nice place to stay and conveniently located"
My sisters and I stayed for nine days at the hotel and it was a perfect place to end our European adventure. After three weeks of riding trains all over Europe, this was a great place to relax and hang out at the beach which is within walking distance to the hotel. The room was cleaned once every few days and there is a nice kitchen area with a lot of cooking supplies. There is a great grocery store nearby, however my sisters and I spent a lot of time at the restaurant on the corner, Che Bolu, which is fantastic and cheap. There is also a bus stop nearby that takes people to the bottom of Spain where you can take a ferry to Tangiers, Morocco. That was a very long day but one of the highlights of our trip. My sisters and I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Handy. Five minutes walk from metro. Did the job."
Basic, but ok for the price. Seemed clean enough. About 5 minutes walk from Torremolinos metro/cercanias. Nothing was stolen, wasn't noisy the night I stayed, sheets and towels seemed clean. So it did the job. Staff not effusively "have a nice day" friendly, but the were ok. Shared showers and bathroom, but sink in room. Showers are solar heated so (in april, at 5pm) it was cold. One toilet/shower per sex on each floor of about 8 rooms. TV in each room and wifi worked fine (on second floor). As a single occupant I got a room with two single beds.

"Clean, Cheap, and Cute"
I was looking for a cheap Hostal near the Malaga Airport and chose this since it is only a 15 minute train ride from it. The biggest benefit: 10 minute walk to the train station. What's weird is that Malaga plays down the fact that Torremolinos is closer to the Malaga Airport than downtown Malaga itself. I guess the two towns are in competition for tourists. In any case, this hostal was a lot better than expected. It was clean and recently redecorated with tasteful Ikea furnishings (there's an Ikea near by) and the staff were very nice. The building is located in a pretty, secluded garden-like complex with white stucco and a giant tree and lush landscaping. Plus a terrace. The only downside is that you have to walk on some dicey sidewalks with speedy cars to get to the beach, which is a 20 minute walk. I saw a recently dead cat on the way. However, I would much rather stay at Gerainos than some of the cheesy hotels near the beach. Torremolinos is not the prettiest nor most subtle beach town, but if you are spending a day in or near Malaga before heading home, this town and this hostal might be the ticket, especially if you are down on your Euros having spent too much of them in Barcelona and Granada, like me.

Pocket Guide: Arroyo de la Miel Torremolinos 1 star Hotels

There is more than meets the stereotype to this Anglo-centric seaside resort. While most of Torremolinos is a brash high-rise heaven for fun-loving Brits, the low-rise western part is patronised by the Spanish and has a very different character. Soft golden sands stretch either side of town and there is a huge choice of entertainments by day and night. Aquapark is a white-knuckle water world; Tivoli World is the region’s major theme park.
