"Overall pleasant experience"
This hotel uses self service check in. The lady stood there as we arrived to the counter to do it was unfriendly and non-engaging, basically staring straight through is with out a smile. Not very welcoming! There were three of us and the first two checked in successfully. When the third person tried it kept getting to add your key card stage and then failing, we tried again. Eventually another woman came along and was a little officious treating us like fools, she said the room is not ready. It would have been easier if the screen told us this - especially as we were only 30 minutes ahead of check in time. The rest of the stay was very good, the meeting room was well presented and laid out, great food and beverages available in the package. The bedrooms were modern and clean with well appointed bathrooms. The food and service in the bar was excellent , with a great atmosphere.

"Served a purpose "
The mattress we slept on wasn't the most comfortable and is in need of replacing, and while the room itself was clean, the bathroom needs updating and decorating. £40 for three breakfasts was a bit much!

"Breakfast was awesome with really great staff "
When you first drive in it is deceiving. The look of the building is not updated but the rooms were very clean and good size room. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who visit England. For the price you can't beat it and the every staff or worker that I talked with were all very nice. It is just a little over an hour to London.

"Quiet and comfortable "
I was very impressed with how quiet the hotel was despite the fact that 2 weddings were going on. They block off rooms near the wedding parties so other residents are not disturbed which impressed me.

"Slopingf Ceiling"
The room was very clean and tidy, my problem was the ceiling/roof. I am 6ft 8in tall and the room had sloping ceiling in the room and bathroom which was a real problem to me. The bed was comfy but again I was too long for the bed and the metal bed end was not good, solved by stuffing a cushion in the end of the bed.

"Beautiful hotel, helpful staff, highly recommend"
If you are looking for a nice and quiet weekend in the countryside with some traditional food and beautiful surroundings, this place is just perfect. The hotel is beautiful, old fashioned homely sort of place with a pub/restaurant downstairs. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They will go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. For example my husband asked if there was a shop nearby where he could buy some fresh bananas. He expected to get the directions to the nearest corner shop and nothing more; but the staff actually got him some bananas the next morning (for no extra charge). They were very interested in what we liked/disliked. They were also very generous when we overslept the breakfast time and allowed us to take breakfast later. The staff take a personal approach to each guest; unlike the big corporate chains, which makes this place special. Unlike many hotels, they were not stinging on tea bags/coffee sachets/little milks in the room, we even got some biscuits. There was plenty of body shampoo/soap in the bathroom. Little things like this also helped to make our stay very pleasant and relaxing. All of that added up to a really great experience. The room was a little bit too warm but it was extremely hot outside and there was a fan inside. Highly recommend this hotel, it was just lovely. I will definitely come back again.

    Pocket Guide: Kent Maidstone Hotels

Maidstone lies at the very heart of Kent, the Garden of England, and has some of the most attractive natural surroundings of any English town. Romantic villages, hop gardens and orchards are sprinkled liberally across this part of Kent and the scenic walking trails are amongst the most enjoyable in the country. From a local Kent hotel base such as the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel & Country Club or Hadlow Manor Hotel you can explore the historic and natural delights of Maidstone and its environs at your leisure.

Hotels in Maidstone - the Heart of British History

This part of Kent is home to, amongst other treasures, Leeds Castle with its glittering lake and romantic towers. No fewer than six queens of England have been here at one time or another, including Catherine of Aragon. The parkland surrounding Leeds Castle covers 500 acres and is home to a traditional maze, working falconry and a fun adventure playground which the kids will love.

Enjoy Top Attractions in Maidstone from a Kent Hotel

The Archbishop's Palace in the town of Maidstone itself dates from the 14th Century and is one of Kent's real hidden gems. The Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages is based here, where visitors can view a fine and indeed unique collection of sedan chairs, exotic sleights and horse-drawn vehicles of all kinds. After such excitements you might feel like taking a scenic cruise along the nearby River Medway, which will take you past the Maidstone Millennium River Park to the historic homes, tractors and oast houses of the Kent Life heritage centre. Why not try staying overnight at a local hotel, guesthouse or B&B to enjoy the experience to the full, without having to rush back home?

Maidstone may seem an unusual location for an ancient Egyptian mummy to be on public display, but that just one of the interesting things you can see at the town's Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery. The museum is also home to collections of fine oil paintings and objects from the Edo period of Japanese history, so there's plenty of interesting stuff on show in Maidstone for all the family.
