I've stayed at a lot of very nice hotels but nothing with as great of service as this coffee plantation hotel. The entire staff was friendly and all but a couple maids spoke perfect English. The chef is friendly and outgoing so have a chat with him at the outdoor dining area and bar while enjoying your afternoon free cookies and amazing coffee. He's trained in Orlando and spent many years as a chef in Naples, FL. His food is as good as any 4 star restaurant in the US and most of it comes from the green house and chickens onsite. After the first dinner we decided to eat every meal we could at the hotel and work our way through the entire menu. The spa was was excellent as well and very accommodating. My wife and I arrived about 3:00 and each had a spa treatment before dinner. I wish I'd made time for another one before I left.
The only downside is driving near San Jose. I rented a car and mapped out my route thoroughly but once I left the airport I found out that Costa Rica does not have street signs and most roads are barely two lanes with no lines painted and run through neighborhoods. The only way to navigate is by getting a hot spot device and using Waze on your cellphone. The turn to the hotel is almost impossible to find and the sign on the road can only be read from 10 feet away. Just stop at Britt Cafe and ask for directions while loading up on the chocolates you'll pay triple for at the airport.
I'll definitely be back with a larger group next time!
"Everything is top quality. Most bang for the buck."
The moment we entered the parking lot, we felt that the hotel maintains quality. Checkin was smooth, quick and friendly. Staff was very helpful. Got upgraded to a better room for free without asking. Received help with taking luggage to the room. The room and bathroom were pristine clean. Furnishings in the room were top quality. Room had a balcony that opened up to their garden view. it was late in evening and the garden was well lit. It looked beautiful. Dinner was available in their restaurant. Service was very cordial, warm and excellent. Food quality was very good. The next morning my son and I went for a walk into their garden at 6AM. I was surprised how large it was. We spent almost 1 hour exploring variety of plants and walking trails. Breakfast was delicious with variety of fresh fruits, baked goods, eggs/meat (for non-veg folks), breads, cakes, juices, coffee, tea etc We checkout later in the morning. Checkout was very smooth as expected.
Was more relaxing and beautiful than expected. Extremely clean throughout. The entire facility is kept immaculate; from the rooms to the gardens, trees and pools. The views are amazing especially at night. The service from the staff was incredible and very much appreciated. Very good food, cold drinks, and prompt service with a smile. Being in a very remote area forced us to stay within the resort during our stay and relax while being pampered by the attentive staff. I know there are options to explore outside of the resort, but we chose to stay put during our stay. We enjoyed a very much needed romantic vacation with nothing to worry about. We really enjoyed the freedom and quietness as well as the opportunity to enjoy nature nude when we felt like it. Thank you to Laura, Angela, Luis, and the rest of the staff for making this vacation an unforgettable one.

My two sisters and Myself stayed in this Hotel. Yes it looks more like a house than a high end hotel but are stay was more than 3 stars. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Its in the middle of a nice town but there's things to see and do around there (if you look for it). However, the best part of staying here wasn't the hotel its self but the employees that work there specially the owner. He definitely goes beyond 100% to make sure you find want you are looking for. Because it is a small hotel and it's in the middle of a small town, most tours don't pick you up from the hotel However, the owner and all the arrangements for you and he gives you the same cheap price than the broucher
(most of the time hotel rice the price). I was surprise to see how nice they treated us. It was more than what I expected. If I ever go again, I would stay here again.
PS- Breakfast is great and If you get a tour that day, the cooks makes you a small fruit bowl for you to take :-)
Although this hotel is located close to the airport and all the city amenities it feels like being deeper in the rain forest, perhaps because is surrounded by nature everywhere you look. Very quiet location, room was clean as well as the rest of the facilities, striking views, relaxing pools and private Jacuzzis.
The place was beautiful. It was clean on arrival. We stayed 4 nights. The wifi only worked one day. We had clean up service 3 out of the 4 days. The security of the grounds were spot on. The complex was a little hard to find. But if you get a cab with a driver familure with the area it's ok. The price was really good and inexpensive. The bed was a tad hard. But all in all we would stay again.
after a week of business travel in Costa Rica wanted to take the weekend for visiting. The price fit the place. In the middle of Heredia by the Universidad National crazy traffic area, buses, taxis, "el centro" feet away from it, closed to the airport --even a bus to take you direct to the airport door for $1.20 vs $20.00 cab fare---perfect for commotion. The bus transportation is the most organized ever seen and all stops near by.This Apartments/Hotel are for students residency. Perfect for in-and-out situations and for 4 or more travelers: great space, the best customer service and no problems at all. the physical conditions are "home space like--- this is not a high scale hotel room: there was no AC but open wide windows and fans. no house keeping. its a complete apartment complex with everything: cooking, laundry etc. for the price---its a local bed&breakfast in a local town. I am a stress free person and I make the best of every situation. I would definitely go back "for $38.00/day"
Located 10 km (6 mi) north of San Jose, Heredia is the capital of the province of the same name, famous for its coffee plantations, tropical rainforests, and volcanic national parks. Home to the National University of Costa Rica, the city also hosts a number of high-tech multinationals. Microchip production is a leading industry, along with tourism and coffee roasting.
