"Amazing hotel with friendly staff, great location"
Hotel Melsore was a major relief after I had a series of bad hotel experiences elsewhere. I had booked 2 rooms as I was visiting with my parents and my wife. The staff were extremely friendly, especially Katerine who helped us check-in. She was extremely sweet and helped me with the check-in process even though I had initially missed some of my reservation info. The rooms itself were comfortable and seemed to be recently renovated. I couldn't access the public transportation from Melrose, since we relied on Lyft, but seems to have quiet a few eateries nearby. Overall had a great experience
We stayed eight nights, six of which were great. Unfortunately on the fifth night a very noisy young sports team moved in next door and talked loudly until almost 2 AM. We were unable to sleep and complained about the noise to the staff but they were unable to quiet the young men. They did however cancel our charges for that night. When the same problem occurred the following night, they moved us to a quieter room for the last two nights.
The rooms, really suites, appear to be older one bedroom apartments that have been converted to hotel use. They were fully furnished, including all necessary kitchen utensils. The furnishings were older but completely clean and well-maintained.
This is an excellent hotel for a family but really is not designed for business entertaining.
This hotel is a great location for anyone who loves Georgetown. It's a short walk to the shops & restaurants, or a quick Uber ride. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were huge- bedroom, bathroom, den, & full kitchen. Not luxurious, but very comfortable and a great price point for anyone who wants more than a small, square hotel room. Would definitely stay there again!
Very friendly and helpful staff made this hotel experience a fabulous one for me. They were happy and willing to help with anything I asked and would always greet and farewell you as you went about your travels. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Extremely close to the tourist highlights of Washington, D.C. and public transport. Would highly recommend this hotel!
So named because of the fog that once rolled into the neighborhood from the Potomac River, Foggy Bottom is home to some of the capitol's most important landmarks, including the Kennedy Center, the Department of State, and the World Bank. With visitors that include celebrities and international dignitaries, it's no wonder the neighborhood offers plenty of sophisticated lodging and dining options.
